seatcounter.com (when I think of SDC) and seatguru.com, but I have my history clear anything older than three days (so not right now).

I had a meeting in Joplin in October. Good friend located there.

I've read through the reviews from the Hiilton forum but I was wondering if anyone here had any particular insight or experience (MBM3?) they could offer up.

The Conrad Maldives freakin rocks, but like a lot of destination resorts you need to have a +1 or more. Not only is it an amazing destination, but getting there is amazing aeroporn. EK 773 or 772LR to DXB, 77A to MLE via CMB and a seaplane to the islands.

Most of the complaints I ever read were regarding elite benefits and price, but I can tell you that Mrs. MBM3 do not have much bad to say. One can not expect a group of islands in the middle of nowhere to be cheap!

Plus, you can do a couple nights in DXB for kicks.

Make sure you take advantage of the elite specials. Our recent 6 night stay in HKG ended up only being 175000 points.

Hit me up offline if you want to chat directly.

I owned my FSA this year - used my last $6 for 2009 on anti-bacterial bandaids for the huge gash I put on the back of my ankle (while out getting the flushot).

Jan of 2010 I think.

Cat 6 is going from 40k >> 50k and I think the GLONs are also being affected.

Thanks to  coins I've got an excess of HH points and the calendars at both properties are wide open so I figured best to book now to lock in the low rate and in the worst case, I can just cancel the res.

Funemployment at its best.

HHonors redemption rates never fail to shock me. 175,000 SPG points would net you right at 3 full weeks (with 5th night free) in some amazing Category 4 properties, like W Seoul, Le Meridien Khao Lak, Westin Langkawi, Western Cape Hotel & Spa, etc.

Thanks MBM3! ^

My thinking was to send the folks over as a way of saying thanks for putting up with 25 years (and counting!) of #@$% from me...but they seemed lukwarm to the idea. Maybe they're secretly lusting after that Hampton Inn, but anyways, both looked fantastic and I'm not sure which one to opt for.

Either way 175k + Diamond benefits for 6 nights at either property seems like an awesome deal.

Delta of the hotel industry. Paris has to make money somehow!

icurhere2 Nov 16, 2009 3:36 pm

Off to play racquetball but I have a WWTBD:

My New Years trip to Paris - have Park Hyatt Paris Vendome for multiple nights and Trianon Palace Versailles. I have one more night and I could:

* Go on a completely unnecessary Hyatt run for a FFN (~$180) for PH Vendome or HR Madeleine (already re-qualified for diamond),
* Redeem Hyatt points (sounds like heresy during FFN earning),
* Stay in Trianon Palace another night and/or otherwise burn HHonors points,
* Use Choice Hotels points,
* Use limited IC points (e.g. a PointBreak),
* Actually pay for a hotel outright.

FWIW you earn 3 HH points / $ spent so it might be a bit more accurate to think of 175k HH points as about ~58,000 SPG points.
