I just observed noticeable accumulations of snow piling up on the exposed concrete surfaces of multi-story parking garages. Would not be too keen to try out an overpass, bridge, or elevated in the coming hours. Last night the idiots that run the city sprayed bridges and overpasses on the North side of the city (presumably because it's always colder up there ), even when the forecasts were calling for the biggest snowfall totals towards the coast.

Check me if I am wrong but from my year at the U of R and the best part of a year working up there, my recollection is that the emphasis is on the last syllable and it sounds more like She-Latt. :)

Oops, Brasil is playing Côte d'Ivoire

That will be quite the match. You got both grupos de muerte.

US draw was about as good as could have been hoped for.

Rare video of :rolleyes:v's surfing trip to Australia.

I can't tell from the video, but the chat show host sounds like Fred Griffith, who was the host of a morning program in CLE for something like four decades.

For Hockey Do participants: I have very likely secured an appearance by a somewhat famous former Devil while we are at the game.

Is he one who still hangs around NJ and runs a bar?

Who runs a bar? Not this guy that I know of.

By sheer chance once, I had this former Devil as a client at Tropicana. He scored the series-winning goal vs. Tampa Bay in Round 2 of the 2003 run to the Cup.

A fortuitous draw for the Yanks. An even better draw for Not A Lurker .
:-:

Both of my matches are at Soccer City. I might try for USA v Slovenia and Espaņa v Honduras at Ellis Park.

That's not right... I've got several ESXi 4.0 servers running in x64 mode with x64 virtual machines running on them. Are you using no-name hardware?

The guy I was thinking of almost never scored any goals in probably more than 15 seasons with the Devs. It is Daneyko and I thought that he had gone in on a bar and restaurant in Western Essex or Passaic County.

Time to make a Whataburger run.

He had a restaurant which IIRC has closed. Italian place, Mezza-something. The only (current) Devil that has a bar is Langenbrunner. He has a piece of a place in his hometown of Cloquet, MN. Brodeur has a large interest in a chain of pizza shops around Montreal, along with Sheldon Souray and a few other players. Daneyko is into real estate, or was as of a year or two ago. I saw him in the lobby of Tropicana during a real estate convention and I tried but could not get his attention discreetly.

So the burner relay on the heater decided to stop working overnight. Woke up to a house that was 56 degrees inside. Great for sleeping, but bad for working.

So the fireplace is lit again. Now I'm glad I have all that wood. And I'm still waiting for a call back from the repair guy.
