Welcome Home!

So my vote would be for the 1st PH at $180 USD ?

It is phenomenal - stayed there last year on FFNs (also stayed at HR Madeleine on a FFN). Earning the last FFN would mean a Hyatt run that's completely unnecessary for status.

Happy Birthday CM!!

Yikes! I just checked the 4Se website rate for around the 1st: EUR800 +.

I retract the suggestion. A great hotel, sure, but is it worth $1200? Hm.

Prices for Mandarin Oriental Prague are also depressing. I stopped in with some friends for a drink on their outdoor terrace back in September. Nice place, but I balk at such prices. They also had a nice fleet of Rolls Royces.

I know I have read discussion that Hilton Points are going through something of a "Zimbabweification". Perhaps, you should burn those especially considering that you focus your earning on Hyatt. Just a thought!

I'm staying at Trianon Palace in Versailles (one of the Waldorf Astorias) for 40,000 before it goes to 60,000

I was acutely aware of what George V (as well as PH) would cost out-of-pocket, which is why I snagged rooms at the PH with points before I earned the FFNs.

Please take pictures. I was very sad to see that hotel depart SPG before I had a chance to stay.

Did you end up staying at the Sofitel Queenstown?

I got my Staples Rewards check (100% rebate from the backpack I bought for ZRH); I was going to ask the Box for camera advice when a good sale came up. I would be looking in the sub-$150 category ...

And the exchange rate adds insult to injury. I don't think I can recall ever seeing the kind of bifurcation in rates and charges between the very top properties and the broader first tier as there is now.

sub $150 won't net a great camera, what type of megapixel and what size are you looking at?

I haven't comparison shopped for point & shoots in a little over a year, so am not up to speed. Travel Photography Forum does have many threads on that, though.

The rich are getting richer, and the middle class are getting POOOOR.

It is odd this year I have seen the W's, IC, JW Marriots and the likes have great pricing and then the self service places skyrocket. Right now it is the opposite, i just booked a suite for a week at $53 a night in SoFla in DEC! this is almost unreal in the winter. Car rental total going to be less than $150 for 8 days in a caddy+....

I find many at 10+ ... Recall that I'm not a professional and I think my current is a 3.2 megapixel. I simply want a camera that takes decent photos.
