I broke down and booked a one-way JNB-WVB for $350. It's refundable, though... so I guess I'll just keep checking for award availability on the route.

Looks like WN is kicking off another fare sale, which should mean some solid DEQM fares in competitive destinations.

Good move that.

I actually had to look up WVB to see what airport that was.

We're planning a trip there — my partner has friends who have recently relocated to Namibia. Not sure if it will happen in 2010 or 2011, but that part of Africa is definitely on our list of places to go in the next two years.

Are you the Gladys Kravits of your neighborhood? ;)

The joke sharing alliance approves that message. I failed to Aloha in the a.m. so you acted as my surrogate. Mahalo.

No. I really didn't take full notice of it until last night when I got home and the one car was missing and I hadn't remembered seeing her car since Sunday. This morning it wasn't there when it normally would be when I woke up.

I am starving. Stayed up too late last night, was cutting it close this morning, and had no time for breakfast. Not a good idea.

I booked the SA flight nonstop, because Air Namibia's schedule is . The only flight of the day WDH/ERS-WVB leaves before the flight from JNB gets in (which is where most connecting traffic from the region would arrive from).

I just finished breakfast (at 11:18 a.m. eastern). Now off to the local supermarket - fortunately I had a small cooler in the trunk (and icemaker in the fridge) for any food I don't complete.

I suspect this behavior is correlated with public ownership. Given the need to maintain the stock price, thinking is short-term, and they'll burn the furniture in a downturn to meet short term goals. The long term doesn't matter.

Suggests incentives for managers aren't aligned with shareholder interests.

Which would you go with either of the two Hyatts or Hiltons?

I'll assume OZ and not FL. I haven't stayed at any but have heard better of the Hyatts than Hiltons. I would pose it to the Hyatt and Hilton boards or search for the threads on there. What are the locations or how important is the location to you? If I recall, a Hyatt was located downtown in a great spot.
