Want to ride over with me? Not sure how you'd get back, but I'll be happy to drive you if you are at AUS when I get there.

That has been my experience as well on the Q-Up runs I've done. Nothing stellar but not awful either. CO is similar in many regards but I'd put them at like 50% great crews versus the 35-40% I get on UA (numbers completely made up, FWIW).

Good point - I did find the consistency (or lack of consistency) to be very similar to what we get with CO. IMO, CO wins big time with their food offerings in F. Honestly, flying NW, US and UA last weekend made me kind of missed CO...

It isn't so bad. That happened on my last tampon(t) run and I ended up getting credit for flights I didn't take. :D

Nice! I'm going to give it a few more days...

Airbus 320.

.......have you ever read Notes on a Beermat, by Nicholas Pashley?[/QUOTE]

Oooooh. I will have to look for that one. My maiden name was Pashley, and I betcha he's related to me somehow as it is a very uncommon name. My father's family is HUGE, (he was one of 16 children ) and so somewhere along the line I bet Nicholas belongs in my family tree.

sdm1130, you don't have to physically mail BPs to the UK to get your BD credit. Scan the BPs and purchase receipt/confirmation to pdf and email them to Diamond dot club at flybmi dot com, with an explanatory letter requesting flight credit.

Wow, that almost seems too easy! :) I'll give it a few more days and then give this method a shot. Thanks!

Hmm, that is an interesting idea. How would it work if I drove? Were you planning on driving back to AUS for B6 AUS - JFK or leaving from IAH? While the dinner was too steep, I should be able to swing drinks afterward.

and, that compensation should comprise of:

either:

(a) a Walnut Whip
(b) a Jammy Dodger
or
(c) a Wagon Wheel

ALCO - you'll be familiar with all of these, I assume? :D:D:D

I've also learned (by going back through the BTS records) that I've flown on the DC-9-30 a whole bunch.

Airbus 320.

BTS ended up providing me with some interesting info... like the fact that my 1996 ATL-SJU was operated by a 762, and not by an L1011. We were on our way to catch a cruise, and there was an equipment swap due to mx. I had always recalled our original L1011 sitting at the gate, and had assumed that we swapped to the same a/c type. Was sad to find out I never flew an L1011.

Also discovered that I never did fly through RDU, and that my trip to GSP was via CLT, involving a US F100 CLT-GSP.

Like you, I also discovered that I had flown the DC-9-30 quite a lot.

I still want to get my hands on some pre-1995 OAGs to improve the accuracy of my childhood flights.

It's far from it. I've heard 1Ks at IAD talking about not getting upgraded before boarding the evening 777 flight to LAX.

On non-transcon flights I've generally done quite well with upgrades clearing. I'm 100% on IAD-DEN, ORD-IAH, IAH-DEN, and about 80% on ORD-ATL — all as just a Premier.

I generally find that CO F is better than UA F. In the back, UA is almost always more comfortable. CO provides more service overall in Y, but UA on longer flights with the Choice menu buy on board isn't bad, and if I buy something, I can always charge it back to work.

I'm planning on being on the 7:25am flight from HOU. I was just going to do a one-way rental and find a couch or hotel floor to sleep on.

I've gotten well more than the $0.88 in value from the miles I have with them. I'm not going to sweat it.

Crud. That means a lot of edits for me. But two votes is more than my one. :o

It could be that their front cabins are full of people on "paid" F fares (the only kind of UA fares I'll book). :D

Can't say those were common parlance amongst my  in EDI.

Well, if I drove, you could crash on my hotel floor (going to check Marriott reward availability presently) and I don't mind dropping you off at HOU before I head back up to AUS. If that sounds like it might work, I'll take it to the wife for final approval. ;)

Hopefully CLT and IAD will end up with some mainline service. I'd also like to see UA start operating LAX-IAH. UA generally has better front-cabin standard award availability, and LAX is an excellent jumping-off point for :-: Asia-Pac flights.

Perhaps US will start operating more aircraft with F cabins into IAH, as well.

Looks like IAH-ATL goes back to about 50/50 mainline/Express by February/March. But through the winter months that schedule is looking pretty nasty, with mostly ERJs and a CRJ here and there. ATL-EWR is still mostly mainline, but in my experience those flights generally have lighter loads than the IAH flights do. It seems a lot of this is probably due to the retirement of the last of the 733s, and a few more 735s, and until the 737-NG deliveries that are coming early next year, there's probably a shortage of 737s.

It does look like CO is upping the size of the aircraft on many IAH-SFO flights in the coming months; lots more 739s and even a few 753s.

UA did fly IAH-LAX in the past — that service ended a few years ago, but there was single daily nonstop on that route that connected to the evening Asian/Australia departures from around 2000-2002/2003 or so.
