No reason at all. That's what makes it so ...

Fortunately all of our data is on a hard drive that's less than a year old, and it's not the problem. In fact, both hard drives in this computer are newer than the computer itself. Unfortunately it appears the problem with this machine is probably in the motherboard. I did a full reformat and reinstall of everything on the system drive two months ago and that has helped, but I'm still having issues, including both IE and Firefox randomly crashing due to memory errors on a regular basis, and random reboots that just suddenly happen for no apparent reason.

Have you just changed the RAM? It sounds like memory problems to me, I may have some lying around if you tell me which kind you need....

memtest86+ can also help you to know for sure if this is the problem, make a bootable cd and boot it up let it run 12 hours and it will give you all the ban sticks of ram :D

If you don't feel like 'wasting' an entire cd for a 700k program, you can download ubuntu live and it has memtest86+ on it on the boot menu :D and it is a great recovery OS as well.

I always forget about that MH flight. They only operate that 2-3 times a week, don't they?

I'll check that out. I haven't used memtest86+ but other memory tests have not shown anything. But I'll give it a try and see what it finds.

There are some other issues going on, which have always been present with this computer — like it refuses to turn on and stay on if there's any kind of drive plugged into a USB port when you push the power button. I really think it's time for a new machine before long.

Does anyone else save a PDF of every single one of their boarding passes? I have no idea why I do this... I even have them all organized by year and then by date/destination.

I do. It has come in handy a few times now.

I've never saved boarding passes. In fact, for many flights over the last year I've used the paperless boarding pass, so I couldn't save those even if I wanted to.

I've worried about FM going away and losing that data — I should probably print a PDF of my activity on there about once a month just in case.

I didn't know you could PDF that - I'll check into that when I get home (I fly home from DFW this afternoon).

The electronic BP is getting easier to use, and there's nothing to have at the end - other than the checked bag sticker. I enter the info in my phone, then transfer it to FM.

I wonder if I can squeeze in 40 more Box posts today to bring me to a total 1,000 Box posts?

No, but I have a couple of Concordes if you want to do some IAH - DFW runs again. :)
