How was your SPG experience?

It was alright. The room was nice, the bathroom was huge, but our view was :td:

The television had no "guide" channel so that when we wanted to watch the news at night we had to hunt for it (plus the remote barely worked).

The location was fantastic though.

Sometimes 1AB randomly become available for selection, but most times they are only available at check in. You shouldn't have much problem calling and requesting them over the phone as well.

How "long limb-ed"? I'm 6'1" and find the legroom to be a little restrictive on some types. 1B is usually better than 1A as there is usually a cutout in the bulkhead. Regardless, you can almost always find me in 1A so I can look out the window and still get past my seatmate without disturbing them.

I faxed my stuff in about two weeks ago and heard back today, I was comped to Platinum till March 2010 as well.

I was somewhat surprised because I fly a good deal of DL ex-PBI on "Y" fares and included some upcoming reservation in my FAX.

The last few times I was cleared, I got Row 1. This most recent trip to FLL, I was in row 2 and loved it over Row 1.

Generally if I unable to select row 1 on-line, I am able to call into the Elite Desk and grab 1B (my fav seat on almost every aircraft) with the understanding that I might have to give it up to somebody who requests it under the ADA.

Yeah. I just don't get bulkheads. I find them very restrictive, even with the cut-outs.

I see that you may have made up your mind between CO and DL. :)

If based in South Florida, that is not an easy decision.

I don't bother with row 1 on WN. It fills up immediately, and is overrated. Apparently many WN passengers have no idea that the exit row seats have even more leg room, and they just ignore them. I end up in the exit row about 90% of the time on WN, and that's often boarding in the 25-40 range.

Yeah, I see your point, but I use an extension usually just to make it easier on me. I could go without if I need to, but WN won't give extensions to exit row pax. So I take the bulkhead, where I fit between the armrests despite the questioning of the GA and lead FA when I board. That's also why I only fly WN on originations where I can book Business Select and board as A1.

Even in F I have the problem of someone reclining into my knees so I tend to stick with the bulkhead seats. I usually have a leg in the aisle except during meal service or or other cart traffic so I can stretch it out occasionally.

ETS stinks. I got disconnected when trying to change my testing date, after following their rules via a postal submission asking for a date change got denied for no good reason. Now I'm on hold again, but at least the agent is being nice and understanding.

I usually don't find them that bad. I'm much more bothered by having the person in front of me go into a full recline, with their seat down on my knees, restricting my space, and giving me no room for my laptop.

I find that asking for a room on a high floor or with a nice view usually goes a long way at SPG properties (or, I suppose, at most hotels). If they are not too full, they'll usually be glad to accommodate.

I always find the remotes at all hotels to be rather . I don't know if the remotes that come with the hotel systems are just garbage or if the receiver is usually just in an awkward place but any action seems to require a few presses of the same button.

A lot of times that is because the batteries have gone  .

SQ canceled one of their 4 (?) daily flights between BKK and SIN and of course it is the one we were booked on for our honeymoon. Our original departure was around 5pm and for some reason, they bumped us up to the 11am departure instead of the 3pm. Time to give them a call...
