I was only interested in the comp if it was good until March 2011.

I thought traditionally that matches after July 1 tended to be for a year and a half, matches before were less than a year.

Row 1 is only OK for me if I'm on an aircraft with cutouts where I'm allowed to stow my laptop. Otherwise, it's row 3 for me.

When one of those jackholes is grabbing on and hoisting, if you can react quickly enough and hit your recline button, sometimes he will just be dumped back into his own seat. At least he will momentarily be thrown off balance. After that, he will not touch your seat again. :D

I learned something new today.

I have done this before — and it usually prevents it from happening again during the flight. I've also had a very, very, very overweight passenger use the back of my seat to hoist herself out of her seat, which resulted in her breaking my seat. We were both in aisle seats, and she did this during boarding to stand up to let the window seat passenger in her row board. The end result was a snap followed by my seat instantly going to full recline. The flight attendants deemed my seat unusuable for the flight, but since the flight wasn't full, there was no issue with relocating me.

I don't understand why anyone who isn't handicapped, elderly, or has other limited mobility issues needs the assistance of another seat to stand up or sit down. If you can't stand up on your own, at least just use your own armrests to push yourself up.

I so wanted to do that the other week (all three people behind me did it) but all their tugging on the seat put my seat into full recline so I kept it there....

I like to bring it right back to upright and then take it all the way back down and then adjust it to where I like it. In case they did not fully realize what had just happened, that does get their attention.

Good morning box. I was at my P/T auditing gig last night. My conclusions are people are .

90% of the time if you call down to the desk they'll send a new remote up quite quickly, without you having to go down.

I must have really bad luck then. I've even had battery issues in newly renovated hotels. Perhaps I need to start traveling with a pair of AAs. :)

It's extremely rare I encounter a hotel remote control that doesn't require a special tool to get it opened. Just easier to call the front desk and tell them the remote is broken. I have to do this 2-3 times a year, and always within 5 minutes I have a new, working remote brought to me, and the hotel employee takes the old one away.

These idjits have absolutely no abdominal muscles.

AM2's Aircraft Market has turned into CRJs-R-Us.

Wish my new aircraft that are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow were here today.

Neither do I - however, I still get up from my seat just fine.

Good morning, box. A bit late getting in here to post today. It's my first day with a new boss so I figured I'd get in early and actually put in the appearance of work today until lunchtime ;)

If they'd stop pulling themselves up using other people's seats, then maybed they'd grow some.

I'd never consider myself to be in perfect physical shape. But really, how bad do you have to be to not be able to stand up without bracing yourself, or pulling yourself up, using a stationary object? Or the really ridiculous ones are the people who can't just sit down normally; they grab the seat in front of them and then totally collapse into their own seat.

I'll concede that sometimes it's difficult to stand up on an airplane given the weird angles and what have you. But what's wrong with using the arm rests and/or your own seat for leverage?

And yeah, the people that grab the seat in front of them to sit down are .

For some reason, SQ is unable to see my Star Gold status. They have my BD number entered correctly (although, with only 1 leading zero) but no status. The agent said I should not have any problem as long as I carry my card, but it's a little strange....

With only 1 leading 0 it is likely not good. If they switch that to a 1 (a la the old numbers) would it show *G?

My midsection is comprised of gelatinous materials but I learn from experience. First time someone yanks my seat I know how it feels and not do the same to someone else in the future. But I guess lessons learned is way too much  for others.

My new number has 4 leading zeros, so you are correct that this might be the issue. Unfortunately, SQ doesn't allow you to change FF #s online, so I would need to call again. With my card, I should be able to get priority check in, extra baggage allowance and lounge access so I'm not too concerned. I'll hang on to our boarding passes in case the miles don't credit.

Did the old numbers have 1? I don't recall seeing that. My old number just had 1 leading zero.
