Well, it's 1am and i'm still up thanks to the French...
In what reality is screaming at the top of your lungs with a dumb French accent (c'est possible!) a good idea at 1am? Either way, it all reminds me of a European See-n-Say. |

Welcome to the 'Box. Be prepared to see over 100 posts (sometimes a lot more) in a day. And the subject matter is reserved to anything and nothing. Writing about and experiencing alcohol is always a good subject.^

Then on a totally out-of-character whim in New Zealand I tried Speight's beer, and it magically turned on my beer palette (figures, one of the few beers that can't be imported into the U.S.). All that to say - I'm now ready to take one down and pass it around!

I was merely making note that one of someone else's favorite films was available in high definition. The Box, after all, seems to be enamored of all things tech. One can see posters commenting via smart phones, there is much discussion of the latest Mac, netbook, camera, etc. Nor, is air travel itself an inexpensive hobby. Furthermore; to put numbers to it, Spaceballs is popular enough to be available in a "special edition" standard definition at $27, so a $19 Blu-Ray version would seem to be at least somewhat affordable in comparison. Now, the basic DVD is available for $8, but in 6 months the Blu-Ray will be down to around $12; again, not an arm and a leg and very comparable to the SD version. If the impression that it is the Blu-Ray player itself that is what's expensive, there are numerous brand-name models available for less than $200. Per the Box, More is More! |
Y:rolleyes:, B:rolleyes:x,
I wanted to share an awesome reward experience with y'all. Just called the elite desk, and got confirmed replies to using miles for EK in J for IAH-DXB, 2 days in the Emirate, than DXB-DEL in J, both on the 772 with new J seats, to get ready for the start of my Hymalayan advanture...on the first try. AWESOME! The agent even said that she couldn't believe that the exact flights that I asked for are available immediately. ^ WHOOOOP! That being said, I am curious about the "Executive Lounge" that EK uses at IAH-D (they use it along with Quatar, etc). Any pointers on it? And can I go to the PC in E with an EK reward in J? Thanks! |

I missed the memo that au poivre sauce is not supposed to be spicy...only dull spot on an otherwise bright 80th birthday. The sauce, and the unfortunate reality that I had to deal with that one family member that everyone else wishes would crawl in a hole. |

Nice snag, theblakefish. I saw an EK logo at the EWR PC this morning. The PC agent had to call a help desk to look into our upgrade certs and the help desk was rather nasty to the PC agent. Despite having listed for promo upgrades for years at PC's, this help desk refused to let the PC agent even put us on the upgrade list, let alone clear us...we were not looking to get immediately cleared, FWIW. Had to leave the C-3 club and go to the C130 service center to get listed. When I get home there will be a thread on the happenings of this morning. |

Glad to hear it worked out for you, CM. CO can be a b*tch when it comes to anything out of the ordinary.
