For the record in an objective sense.

CCP, posted late last night, that previous EWR-NRT flight had person removed for "flu like symptoms." Apparently, there is a Japanese arrivals form that asks questions about whether or not the pilots had contact with people who had the "flu." The pilots contacted dispatch, who apparently was on call and at a wedding reception :confused::confused:. Dispatch told the pilots to proceed with the flight and decline to admit contact, the pilots declined to fly because they were afraid of the Japanese health inspection if they admitted contact.

The groups that belong to the unions seem to fall into two groups: very anti company and those that could care less. Each group stays far away from the other, in terms of discussions about unions/contracts/company.

The ALPO group is very vocal and the FA group can't seem to get it together except to agree that their union stinks but very few people want to get involved due to prior union problems when there was a movement to get another union to take over.

I certainly don't think these issues should be posted here. Maybe a link for those that are interested but that "contact with a ill person" was not necessary. I am confused over the flight crew's issue with the word "contact" since sick people board all the time and yet I don't see the crews walking/calling in sick/ over "contact". Just what do they consider "contact"? Rather confusing term since I don't think being in the same area of a sick person as contact.

In that short amount of time, I'd suggest skipping the RTW idea and doing an Asia reward with a stopover in addition to buying your own intra-Asia ticket (cheap!). Visiting all of the cities you suggested in 18-21 days would feel very rushed, IMO.

I think I will play with the star tool and see what kind of routing I can come up with. I get about 6 weeks vacation now, but I picked 18-21 days to save as much vacation time as I can for whatever comes up. . Europe I am not so much worried about being rushed, because it's close enough and fairly cheap at times, but Asia I want to do right and have enough time for. I can reconsider the amount of time I use

if they had touched, shaken hands, etc then this would be somewhat understandable, but otherwise  just being in the plane with them is lousy.

The UA union is now trying to prevent CO from entering *A and UA partnership as well, saying it will lead to outsourcing of jobs.

oh get a grip guys UAUA is outsourcing your jobs to UAX under your noses daily!

That was nice of them to give him your assigned exit seat without asking you

I told the agent he should have asked me first and I would have gladly said yes.

It is rare that I support compensation threads, but I support this one. Glenn needs to be riding in row 19. I still remember the LSU-Texas game.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

To bump someone out of an exit row is a little  - but to bump a CO zillion-miler is nothing short of criminal.

In all seriousness, bumping a plat from an exit row isn't kosher.

I do, too!! :D:D:D:D:D:D

(ETA: no matter who it is, there's no reason not to ask someone before you take their seat...)

Did I miss the memo that the ethnic food aisle is only interpreted to be Jewish and Asian? I ended up with a chicken tikka sauce for gyros tonight (I don't do tzatiki yogurt sauce, blech...I like the hot sauce option) along with whole wheat non-circular pita breads. In a state that offers its driver's license exam in 19 languages, one would think that I could find Greek foodstuffs.   (Windex, however, was easy to find.)
