No joke. The new tobacco taxation sucks.

Oh, and if you buy something out of state for use in NYS you are supposed to pay the tax on it when you file your IT-201.

Just a wee bit oppressive.

Indeed. Cuba seems fascinating on so many levels...and I could joyously support a Communist regime with my travel dollars.

The poli sci major in me is yearning to reply on that thread. I think CO flies to several other countries where the population is much more oppressed than Cuba, regardless of the political party in power.

Lousy crew this a.m. Not worth complaining about (well on here I will ;) ) but they were truly . Off to EAR - I was told by the chipper Great Lakes GA that I get the big plane - they knew I was coming and they ordered in the big plane with the potty. Yep, those were her exact words. She was a hoot. Honestly, I love the Great Lakes GAs. I don't know how, but they love their job.

IN OK and in NYC there were bad last week.

Yes, I have experienced an unusually high level of turbulence on most of my flights over the last three weeks. My TATL flights this past week offered a bit of respite, however.

China and Venezuela are the only two I can think of.

*EDIT* maybe Honduras?

On a Sunday. :o
On a 735. :rolleyes::mad::rolleyes:

My shortest flight was probably HHH - CHS
I also had a SYR - (goose encounter) - SYR, not sure that counts.
And a BWI - PHL.
Oh, and FLL - EYW.

Not sure how short any of those are.

I had IAD-DCA last year.

Quite a few of the States have that sort of provision in their statutes. IIRC, the last time that I filed in NJ about 5 or 6 years ago, there was a form in the package to make it easy for you to file and pay the "Use Tax" (at the NJ sales tax rate) required on out-of-state purchases.

I actually misunderstood. After living in north county, I actually live just inside the city limits of San Diego proper now, up in the Rancho Penasquitos area. We're sitting at 8.75% right now, and apparently there is no June 1 increase. My information source was flawed.

Still, that combined with the increase in state income tax, the increase in vehicle registration, and the other junk that's going on, it simply costs way too much to live here. It's past the point where the weather makes up for it.

Diversion on a COEx ERJ after two missed southbound river approaches with a very low ceiling at DCA. We sat at IAD for an hour waiting for visibility to improve, then departed for DCA.

You're supposed to pay the difference between the sales tax you paid and your local rate. How many people actually do that? I bet not many!

If stuff like that counts then sign me up for COS-DEN (It was Stapleton at the time).

My shortest scheduled flight was 11 miles, MOZ-PPT. Shortest non-scheduled (I think) was 0 miles, PMP(PPM)-PMP(PPM).

Yeah, CA is a bit screwed. But they have no one to blame but themselves and I only see it getting worse in the short term.

I'm glad I got out when I did.
