Do what you can to stay on AF, as their J product is superior to that of CO and NW. Why not make them put you on the AF nonstop to IAH?

I've yet to find that available for reward tix but will ask. Hmmm, the big issue is neither one of us wants to fly in y from DET, and right now we have no guarantee we'll get that other seat later. I'll call and see what they can do. Our flight is six months away so more changes could be underfoot.

So what's the latest version of your routing?

I have a feeling you'll be calling to change it right up until the point you walk down the aisle. ;)

Which aisle? The one at the church or on the plane. :D

Have you seen the doctor? You must be missing a gene or something. Flakes are quite divine. Of course, if you are not one of the exalted few who have the Cadbury's Flake gene, then you wouldn't know!! :D:D:D:D

SeatGuru, FlightMemory, etc. are on there as well. It's a great way to have a corporate presence in a place where people can add feedback.

For those of us with blogs and podcasts, it's an invaluable tool.

I still don't get it, but maybe one of these days i'll take the time to understand it.

Dare I ask how it's useful? Just by being able to publish updates?

When is SPG.com not ?

Actually the worst I've ever seen SPG.com was Wednesday night. We went on there to book my partner's reservation for the NYC Auto Show in April, and the site wasn't up. Instead it was displaying a directory folder tree for the entire site. I could click through all of the folders and look at the individual files on the SPG.com web server. That lasted for a good half hour or so, around 10:00 PM eastern time.

I too got to experience that. I just  and went over to starwood.com which was still working.

This makes no sense. In a few weeks I have to fly LAX-IAH on Monday, then IAH-ATL on Friday. I'll be working that week in the Houston area, and we're going to be in LA the weekend before. My corporate travel agent's site quotes me over $850 on CO for the same flights that CO.com is quoting me just under $600. On the travel agent's site, LAX-IAH is a B fare, and IAH-ATL is Y. On CO.com, LAX-IAH is still B, and IAH-ATL is N. I'm tempted to just book it on CO.com and apologize later is anyone says anything. It's far cheaper, and I wouldn't mind the $5 TravelBank credit, and the points for Mileathon.

I've seen this with my corp agent as well. It appears that the corp agent, amex in this case, has a pricing issue such that they just ignore the B fare and price out Y. It's silly but what can one do? Deal with the wrath of the travel department for breaking policy or just paying extra?

Gotta love corporate America.

My family loves them and always buys loads for each other whenever someone goes over to the UK. I don't know why I find them .

Penguin Extortion Works! It's like a free pass to use miles for anywhere in the far Southern Hemisphere. :D

I had a *A RTW saved in the RTW Planning Tool that I really liked. I realized that saving it and looking at it every few days was just a cruel tease, so I deleted it. I just tried to write a new one and I accidentally deleted that one too.

In this case I think it was the combination of a refundable B fare on the LAX-IAH flight and a non-refundable N fare on the IAH-ATL that was causing the problem. Our travel agent's site tends to like either refundable or non-refundable, not a mix of the two (and in this case, the presence of the N fare was making the whole thing non-refundable on CO.com).

I ended up booking it as two one-ways on CO.com for the extra Travel Club credit, and also because there's a very, very slight chance my schedule will change, which will make it easier to get out of the LAX-IAH segment without penalty.

As for the wrath of the travel department, so far I've been OK there. I've booked a few flights here and there through CO.com over the last year and so far, nobody's said anything, and they've all been reimbursed, no questions asked. But I try not to push my luck on that one.
