Husband is useless for this kind of stuff. Maybe I can sweet talk my son into helping me change out the line and/or faucet. :p And when that doesn't work I'll call the plumber on Monday.

I too am not a real fan of the malbec. there are a few that I do like but I like the stuff best as a blending wine.

In Argentina, there are some terrific malbec-bonarda blends and it also works quite well in blends that are dominated by cabernet sauvignon.

I've never been a big Cab person. My top reds are:

Pomerol
Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Pinot Noir (just about any, Oregon or NZ)
Côtes du Rhône
Cretan Table Wine (generic, it's all good over there)
Merlot (Chilean, Californian, what-have-you)

In roughly that order.

Those are the things that ozstamps brings along to the OzFests. It appears to me that the Tim Tam Slam is designed to produce an even greater sugar high than will just eating them.

I would love to attend ozfest

Given that the Irish response to pay-toilets in public has generally involved urinating in the streets, it should indeed be interesting.

I can't wait to see what happens to the aircraft themselves.

My blender is broken; which made making frozen margaritas a bit difficult. I was using good tequila so technically it should have been shaken anyway, but it's hot here and frozen sounded good. Quite strong, too.

Good reason to NEVER fly Ryanair! Read the article earlier in disbelief. Perhaps they were hoping for some good free publicity:confused::rolleyes:

I wonder how a "Necessity" defense would play out in a European Court...

It's a real paid toilet, coin slot and all. It will only take a 1 pound coin. Why not a 1 euro coin, don't ask me. Ryan claims it will allow them to offer lower airfares.

You list the Pinots from NZ and the Willamette number 3 but do not mention the great Burgundies which are almost all Pinot Noir.

IMO, the two that you have mentioned are truly excellent and great at their price points. As a matter of fact I have tasted seven or eight of the Oregons this week, two at the NY Box Do, (if you would like I can send you my notes) but when I really want to splurge, I will look at the list of Burgundies which often start at $80 or so in restaurants.

I don't know the Cretans, but my stop in Chile last year convinced me that the one Chilean that I like the most is the Carmenere. They do that better than they do anything else and better than anyone else does it.

This sort of discussion can continue at great length around here or when we finally do meet up. And then, there will be plenty for us to sample and compare. :D

Rumor has it that the Ryan Air CEO was just joking about charging for lav access. I don't think we'll really see this happen...

I just saved 40K SPG points by switching from PRG/CDG to CPT, as well, and bumped up in category from Junior Suite to Deluxe Suite. ^

I am waiting for March 2 to save me a cool 8K SPG points for my March 3 check in. :D

I have no idea what the grape varietal used for Cretan table wine is. They just bring it to your table in 1.5L earthenware pitchers (that cost about 4EUR), and it's fantastic. It's a very light-bodied, smooth red, that is very easy to drink when it's 90-100 outside and not a cloud in the sky (as is often the case on Crete).

I know someone already mentioned the dirtiest hotels list, but I'm not sure Hotel Carter in NYC was specifically mentioned. This has got to be one of the most disgusting hotels I have seen!

Check out the traveler's photos from TripAdvisor.

Hotel Carter was #1 on the list.

Likewise. I'm switching a C&P at Westin St. John to my free night award (8K & $150 savings). I'll be switching my W Seoul reservations from Cat 5 Specialty Select (Junior Suite) to Cat 4 Suite, which will only add 5,500 points x3 nights to that reservation, and will be using 14,500 points for a Fantastic Suite at the W Mexico City. Even after that, I'll still be way out in front, after taking into account the points-savings of CPT.
