Given you run-ins with celebrity, your dealings with Peter Drucker, and now this...I wonder if maybe you still have a side job doing Dos Equis ads.

I did some extra work back in the early 90's in addition to my bank job. I had one appearance (about 9 or 10 shots) on the John Larroquette Show on NBC (I was a guy drinking in the bar -- a stretch).
A week after the Larroquette show stopped taping, I got a call from the extra company that I was needed at Paramount Studios if I could make it. I declined. As it turned out, I turned down an extra job on Baywatch. |

Sadly, in most estates, the value of the property is much less than what is perceived. Managing that type of expectation is a difficult part of my job.

I was in a bit better shape at the time. I easily could have gotten my SAG card if I would have kept being an extra.
I couldn't imagine doing extra work for a living, however... |

FWIW, my advice would be for him, as an entry level i-banker, to look to minimize his commute and day-to-day hassles for the first year. Using a day or two, staying in town, do the commute to each neighborhood from his building, imagining rain, slush and darkness. Walk the neighborhoods to find the mix of shops and markets that appeal. And, as someone else mentioned, add the East Side near to work to the equation.
After he survives the first year (which will just fly past for him), there's plenty of time, and by then first hand experience, to optimize where he can most see himself at home for a longer pull. |

And I'm sure Scottsdale was following the debate raptly. A MKE boycott could have cost them hundreds and hundreds of dollars.

Here is a recap of teh episode. I was one of the "juppies at the bar" that Liz Torrez described. I had a moment with David Cassidy...
