Oh, my!:( That will be pretty heavy -- although I suspect that it will be a 'delayed' reaction sort of thing.

Sounds like a hard day for you. My parents still live where I grew up too. That's pretty rare these days:cool:

I just went through that last month...was very bittersweet leaving the house that I spent much of my life growing up in (16 years) for the last time, as the 'rents have now moved to Jersey.

It is not sitting well with my oldest that I plan to sell next year. Of course I haven't got a clue where I'm going to move to. I've owned a house since I was 20 so can't decide whether that is really necessary or not.

It was tough for me, but fortunately I have a couple of really good friends that live within 5 minutes of my parents...plus NYC is only a 30 minute train ride away, so I'm sure I'll stop in for some Box drinks ^

It's cooler, but more humid. Still pretty miserable out there either way.

I had not walked out of the house this morning when I wrote that. When I did walk out around 11:15... holy humidity Batman! I was drenched from just loading a suitcase into my car.

There are a couple of things that I associate with the house. Sadly, they are not things I want to keep or store. My brother and I have decided to keep some level of family momentos and leaving much behind. I am going to use some of the paintings to finish decorating the condo (there is one room without art), and a very small part of the collection fits in with the decor there.

Rooms need art or they have no personality:(

After the great water leak of 2008, most of the art was destroyed. I am waiting for the right items to finish the place. ^
