It was fine when I stayed there a few years back. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, which is why I think it is often so cheap. It was a concept hotel for an all-suites variant of W. The suites aren't gigantic... more like Sheraton Suites sized.

Just got an invitation to come to Puerto Penasco, Son., MX (aka "Rocky Point"). Haven't been there in literally decades, but it has some of the highest tides anywhere, with great snorkeling and tidal pools full of creatures at low tide, good sailing, and water the temp of a bathtub.
Trouble is, (a) it's a long drive from PHX or TUS into (b) Mexico, and (c) it's on the edge of one of the hottest, driest deserts on the continent. I'm not sure that any rental co's let you take their cars into MX anymore, and then there's this, from the city's website: "At this time, there are no flights available between Phoenix and Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco). Many of our visitors continue to ask this question and while this could be a good business endeavor to get into due to the incredible amount of travelers from Phoenix, no airlines are willing (or perhaps able) to take the risk for now. We will inform you if this changes." Think it Regrets here. |
Pebble Beach looks great! I love the contrast - surfers and golfers in one shot. Does anyone air the golf before ESPN takes over at 1pm EDT?
