I've become slightly more of an Amazon.com person given the CoinStar machines don't charge for counting coins if one takes a Amazon.com gift certificate instead of cash. (Those who take cash face a 9.8 percent default fee).

I'm pretty sold on Android. iPhone is great too, but I'm still a bigger fan of the flexibility and customization options on Android, as well as not being locked into things like iTunes and syncing over a USB cable. The drawbacks to Android are, of course, fewer apps (but that is rapidly going away), and the fact that some phone manufacturers have butchered the OS with layers of crapware that they insist on running on top of it — and then they're slow to release the OS upgrades as a result. However, some of the very best phone hardware available in the US right now is available only with Android, and it's a very solid alternative to Apple.

Does this Android thing of which you speak come with a real keyboard? Touchscreen keyboards can haz gives me an attack of the .

LOL. When I usually get something from Fedex Ground it seems to take as long as, or longer than the estimated arrival date.

At some point I'm going to have to move that collection of books out of my mother's house, and if I can cut down the number of physical titles I own, I just might go to digital books.

Amazon offers so much more than books. In reference to the car seat I bought from them, they beat everyone's price by a minimum of $40. That, and they don't charge taxes nor shipping fees (over a certain amount), won it for me.

Poo. And I never knew that during a time in my life when I actively pooled change and would take said change to the free counter at TD Bank. Now thanks to this job, I don't carry cash so I don't generate change.

I have to shower and drive into town. It's a good thing I elected to buy the discounted prescription sunglasses the other week. Between the glow from its vibrant economy and the general divine countenance, the light can be pretty intense. Later.

All phones @Tmobile are free this Saturday - w/ a 2 year plan. If I wasn't locked into VZW, I might consider it.

I will have to investigate further. I don't like Amazon principally because they ship USPS for smaller items and because they are sometimes not the entity responsible for order fulfillment. The only other area of shopping that I would have considered them for was photo gear, but Beards and Hats beats the pants off them on price.

Only issue for some of us it that it requires at least two lines - I investigated last night (as I was trying to upgrade the phone yesterday).

Seriously, unless you mean massive press run paperbacks you'll always be able to re-acquire in the used market for cheap, keep your books. They're heavy and a pain, but they're a treasure. They're a large part of who a person is.

Edge of time envelope approaches. Shower.

In my case, the most frequent purchases from Amazon are windshield wiper blades and air filters - better quality at a lower price.

I totally agree, and it'd be my mass-market paperbacks and such that I would seek to delete. My father is of the school of thought that if it isn't hardcover, he won't touch it. I don't go that far, but I do have a pretty unique collection of larger softcovers and hardcovers that do much to explain my personality.

Off to el banco and el Wawa.

Please tell me there is a rational reason for this opinion. I'd love to hear it.

Depends on the device. Some hardware has a physical keyboard, some don't.

It took a lot of convincing for me to go to a device with only a virtual keyboard. But now that I'm used to it, honestly, I'm fine just having the virtual keyboard. The phone is a lot lighter as a result, and most of the device's real estate is dedicated to the screen, where it's really needed.

Yep. I saw that this morning. It's a great deal.

What is wrong with receiving small items by USPS?
