Well it was kind of appearing broken earlier today at one point, but then it started working again.

I believe you can earn status on @OchoSquares.

What does that get me?

Congratulations on that. And you did it largely the "real" way, BIS, and not the credit card miles way?

I had a total rebuild of my vacation condo placed on said card following insurance settlement. I also won a trip to London at a FT DO and got 200K miles to buy air tickets. I am only somewhat "real". :D

ETA: The 25k miles will put me over 1 million lifetime AA miles and get me lifetime Gold. :-:

Seems like you might have made a decision - still get the BWB free nights as well ^ and the 25,000 are bonus (over the default miles).

That's completely called for in that case.

Evening, Box.

I'm a total bandwagon jumper - didn't watch the Hawks play all season, now watching in the Cup finals. Go Hawks.

+1.

INP. Haven't you heard? UA can do no wrong. Oh, wait, you're not a 1K so you don't matter. They can do whatever they want and you are just supposed to bend over and take it.

Sounds about right. Reminds me of a post that totally escaped larger attention in the UA livery thread. Some poster dropped a Full Metal Jacket reference and put the airline in the role of the Vietnamese street hooker.

Flyer: "What do I get for 1K?"
Hooker: "Any-ting you want."

:D

Gotta agree with you here. I just did the math and was only losing 2,500 bonus HGP points during this period, and I just added the 5th stay. With the miles I eventually get from my dad's estate, I will have about 700k AA miles in my AAcount. :-:

I wonder if any AA'ers used the mint trick to run over the top. It'd be heavy (not in the Led Zeppelin sense), but a good story for rest of their life.

The lack of G bonuses combined with inexpensive stays (even less expensive after Hyatt certs) made this a slam-dunk for me.

Say what? You're inheriting miles? How's the estate tax work on that?

Consider yourself lucky... I'm #5 on the upgrade standby list for IAH-LAX on a 753 with four seats open and only one person upgraded.

Still, I'm honestly stunned. Is that true for all airlines? FF points are transferable on death? There's a black comedy murder plot in this...
