Cleanup won't do it anymore. I think my address is in play. That site got it, and is offering it up, probably along with thousands of folks who surf coupon sites with their dial-up while eating bon-bons during the soap opera commercial breaks.

But as I write that, you are right. How else does the IP->email link happen? CO needed to buy the email for me to get this.

What I'm thinking of is booking EWR-HKG-EWR. Spend a few days in HKG than use AirAsia for HKG-BKK, BKK-HKT and HKT-HKG, with a few days at BKK and HKT (or some variation of that). Basically 3 individual point to point segments.

If it is just point-to-point, you should be fine. If a full service carrier offers the same routing for a slightly higher fare, however, I would go with the full service carrier. If the price difference is substantial and you want to save cash, go with AirAsia. I do not know offhand which terminals AirAsia uses at BKK and HKG, so you might want to look into that, as well.

Assuming you are subscribed to co.com promotions you'll get that email every now and then until you join. I get it all the time. I doubt it has anything to do with the malware experience other than convenient timing.

Yep, here it is, in the Privacy statement: "From time to time, individual information may be shared with our OnePass partners in order to provide members with requested products or services, as well as more opportunities to earn miles and other benefits associated with OnePass membership. In addition, your member information may be merged with demographic data from a third party."

e-miles isn't worth joining if you aren't a member. miles are so tiny for so much work. e-rewards is much better.

I need to do one of these, that or the CO Debit while Mileathon is still working, hmmm where was that link

The CC for the mileathon is now gone. had to do it by May 31st.

Just had a  experience with Chase Customer Service. I call up and ask who I need to talk to about some over drafts.

First agent responds to to that with, How may I help you?

Transfered to second agent, explain that CO has overcharged me for tickets and are in the process of refunding the money.

Second agent: Have you called the company and asked for a refund?

HELLO!! Whould you please listen to the conversation at hand!!

Thanks. That makes me feel better. Now, I'm going to go and upgrade my opt-out settings on co.com.

Now, I wasn't suggesting I thought CO would spam. I was hypothesizing they bought my email from the malware guys as someone fitting the e-miles target demographic, so others might have as well. But if you guys have been getting that email (I may have, too, and just not ever opened it) then I'm not as worried about that.
