The fact that CO is no longer blocking the exit row seats on the 73Gs and 735s irks me a little. Non-elites book the non-ELR seats, so if one is traveling in a pair and want one person to have the ELR seat, the pair can't sit together.

Mmm, 50,000 UA miles credited. :)

As part of my feasibility study for a potential trip to BKK I discovered AirAsia for intra-BKK and possibly BKK-HKG segments. Then I discovered the 29" pitch. I think that's a INP.:-:
In any event, AirAsia prices everything a la carte, so you can just pay your el cheapo fare and upgrade yourself to the bulkhead, exit row, or premium section for $10-$15 US at the time of booking (can't rember how much I paid for the bulkheads and exit rows). Each time I did this, I ended up with no one else in my row and plenty of legroom. I did a flight in the non-premium section, as well, and it seemed like it had at least 31" of pitch. I could dig up the photos at some point. |

I've flow AirAsia several times. The pitch seems like more than 29"; in fact, I found the flights rather comfortable.

Nice, I just used 15,000 miles and $50 to confirm upgrades for my UA flights next week (CLT - ORD - AUS). ^

I'm still trying to figure out the CO 787 seat map based on the published capacity.

I cant wait until those planes are gone.
In any case, I'm not looking forward to routes previously operated with 73Gs (12 F seats) and 738s (16-20 F seats) being swapped to 319s with 8 F seats and 320s with 12 F seats. |

I am to the point of having one bio that gets copied and slightly modified for different settings.

Meh. Why fly a new plane when you can do Orient Thai Upper-Deck on an ex-JAL 747-100SR with original 1970s business-class seats?
The worst part about AirAsia, apart from their somewhat spotty ontime record, is the fact that they do not sell connecting flights. Each flight books as a single connection, so if you have to connect anywhere (like KUL), you have to clear immigration, claim your bag (they are very dilligent about forcing you to check even small rollaboards, for a fee, of course) and checkin at the ticket counter for your onward flight. |

Fly Orient Thai on BKK-HKG. You can haz a classic 747 (-100/200/300 is possible).
My wife really wants to go, but it a bit hesitant given the recent troubles in BKK. Over time that should subside, but I dunno of the allure of Classic Awesome airlines would help. :-:
