NBC news is about to have a story on good news about if you back doesn't arrive at your destination. I think it has something to do with bag fees.

The rumor is that they want to have their bag fee refunded.

Personally after dealing with bags for the past few months I wish we wouldn't charge for the first bag. Do you have any idea how many bags I have to drag off the carousel every night, mainly because we have advanced the bags earlier, but those damn things weight a ton. Since we started charging for checked luggage everyone has packed their bags to exactly 50 lbs.

The AC is making me happy but I forgot how much noise it makes:eek:

The part about having 24 hrs to change your mind on a ticket and get a full refund sounds good to me

It was about a bunch of new legislation for the passenger bill of rights. It wasn't a refund but more money until you get your bag. Other stuff like increaseing IVB to $1300. People on the news went nuts over banning peanuts on aircraft. Mr. Elliot should have the details in his blog since he was interviewed.

I do carry-on because of the nasty fees and lifting that darn bag to the overhead is not fun at all either.

CO already does that.

Raising the IVB pay out is fine and dandy. What they don't understand is that the IVB is based upon the price you paid for your ticket and how long you are delayed for.

The issue about getting more money while your bag is delayed is already on the books. Most people don't know that we are required to start paying you the minute your bag has gone missing (up to $1300 or something like that). Most airlines were under the impression that they could wait 24 hours before giving you money but the DoT made it clear that was not the way the ruling read. Plus we use to not pay you anything if you were home-now we have to also give you interim expenses.
