I actually had good luck with Delta last year when I wanted to extend a day on a part paid/part award ticket. Quite a relief to get it fixed for free^

The rumor is that they want to have their bag fee refunded.

Personally after dealing with bags for the past few months I wish we wouldn't charge for the first bag. Do you have any idea how many bags I have to drag off the carousel every night, mainly because we have advanced the bags earlier, but those damn things weight a ton. Since we started charging for checked luggage everyone has packed their bags to exactly 50 lbs.

It was about a bunch of new legislation for the passenger bill of rights. It wasn't a refund but more money until you get your bag. Other stuff like increaseing IVB to $1300. People on the news went nuts over banning peanuts on aircraft. Mr. Elliot should have the details in his blog since he was interviewed.

I wasn't interviewed about it but it is the current post in my blog, too, along with a link to Elliott.

The increased IDB plus tying it to inflation makes sense but it will likely reduce overbookings and VDB opportunities as a result. Win some, lose some. And most folks ignore that IDB is tied to fare paid so VDB can be more lucrative, though not in real cash.

The bag stuff changing should be useful.

Oh, and it isn't "legislation" technically as they are rules laid out by the DoT, not legislators.

If you are there tomorrow, walk across the bridge to Sydney at sunrise and then have breakfast somewhere in The Rocks.

Headed to the airport in an hour; home by midnight Sunday night.

I was on the bridge around 0730. Early enough for me. And I was staying in the Rocks so happy to get out to the 'burbs-ish area to see a more residential part of town.

You might be able to shed some light on something that happened to me, 12/31 one year in the 80's. I arrived HNL, but the bag missed LAX connection. It did arrive, and then I was told that they could not deliver (early eve. NYEve) because it was "too risky to do so". We were up Pacific Heights Road, not exactly a dangerous part of town.

Having been posted in HNL, does that make any sense to you? I always figured it was complete BS.

Hello Box and congrats Mackieman on 200K!

Completed move #2 today. The moving gods smiled upon us this morning and kept the temp below 85. Fortunately all my crap was going to a climate controlled storage unit so the 95+ temps at the drop off weren't a horrible issue.

Many thanks!

We're back from running an errand. Although it is still 104, it feels like it is cooling off. Truly it is a dry heat...

Sorry to hear that. A Yank probably doesn't have a lot of built-up immunity to the bugs in a place remote enough to have evolved the platypus.
