I was more comfortable in old NW DC-9 30" than I was in CO Y. The US 734 30" Y is pure Hell.

It was. Great use of leftovers from the weekend. I just had mine — made it earlier before Brian was out the door, so I could package one to go for him. I wrapped mine in foil and stuck it in a warm oven while I did some other chores, and just had it with coffee. Yum. We bought a spicy chile lime garlic rub at Whole Foods a while back. Tossing a little of it in a plastic bag with some cooked shrimp and just a tiny bit of olive oil and letting it marinate overnight in the refrigerator results in shrimp that are perfect for these. I then scrambled some eggs with salt and pepper, sauteed the shrimp with some onions just to get them warmed up, and assembled it all in a tortilla with a nice sprinkling of shredded cheedar and Monterrey jack. We had fajitas over the weekend, and shrimp last night, so this used up a lot of the leftovers, and made for a very quick, and tasty, hot breakfast.

Wow. Post bookmarked.

Maybe you're right. I once worked with a little person at a client. She told me she loved to fly because she could sit in any seat and have tons of room, while everyone else suffered. She then looked at me and said "You must be really miserable on planes" and smiled. I told her I usually flew in first class. She quit smiling. So, yeah, maybe she wasn't so sane after all… seemed she might have been using the crappy pitch thing as a form of schadenfreude.

Good call. Y is not even tolerable for those whose feet don't hit the floor.

I don't think I've had an EUA clear at 5 days on CO. Ever.

You don't know where you're going 5 days in advance.

for SEA it is about $100.00 more to tack on an SZG segment, and it is routing me on FRA-SEA on LH. Me no likey 50% miles.

It was interesting chatting up my EWR-based crew on my flight back from LAX last week. It was a mix of United curiosity, an understandable worry about seniority and a worry that service levels might diminish. They were also curious as to what I thought about United.

It was a nice conversation - I thought they would be snarly but it is more about being cautious as to how it plays out.

Sorry, should have clarified.

Yes, you'd think it would be simple.

That's when I'd say "Thanks, never mind." Hang up, call back. Some battles aren't worth fighting.

I've been quite happy with SPG. Getting a status match to switch me over helped as well.

Hilton still gets some stays from me just because I can't avoid them, and as a result, I'll have Diamond for another year without trying to get it.

Last time I flew non-exit row Y on NW was well before the 30" pitch days. I've only flown in Y on a NW DC-9 once in the last 16 years, and that was last fall, the day after the CO/NW reciprocal upgrade agreement ended. But, I had the exit row, so no complaints. I've not flown a US 734 in Y since they reduced the pitch in those either, but I came close last year. Their 733s are hell with 31" pitch, and those have the same seats as the 734s, so I can't imagine flying one of those planes.

Happens all the time for me. I'm usually surprised when it doesn't happen. In fact, I'm usually upgraded for entire four day trips 24 hours before I depart on the first segment, and often on fare codes that are all over the map.

I didn't mind it but it was a 90 min flight and I am anywhere between 5'9" and 5'11"

I'm stealing this from a cousin's Facebook status. He's a CRJ captain.

Last night I was flying from LaGuardia to Norfolk at 24,000 feet. Over Sea Isle, New Jersey I get a call from my flight attendant telling me that a lady rang her call button to complain that we weren't moving and wanted to know why!
