Time to say good night, Box.
Good luck on your bump-up to NRT, xyzzy and safe travels. Have a good time. |

Those would be the roaches that flew in from Hawaii. I'm surprised you haven't complained about the cockroaches while in Hawaii.
The best tourist story I heard was from a girlfriend that use to man the front desk at the Hyatt Regency. She got a hysterical call from one of the rooms complaining about a roach. After she stopped laughing silently, she almost asked her if it was walking or flying but figured she would have seen the guest leaping from her window. Roaches were a major fact of life living in Hawaii. :D |
I am only now finding out how deep my fiancee's knowledge of 70's music is, and it is disturbing to me.

I was just trolling the UA site. I need to get up to speed with their customers. They are currently complaining that boarding starts before the 'official' time and they don't like that.

Some nights over the north Atlantic, it was only consol; too choppy for star shots, Loran skipping off the ionosphere, and the weather lows too weak. If you've never heard of consol, here's a site; there doesn't seem to be a Wiki on it. The two stations in Stavanger, Norway and Quimper, France had ranges of about 1500 nm, but if the Loran was skipping, the consol range went out to Iceland as it skipped, too. Consol was the main German U-boat nav system, but the Allies used it as well, and it was never bombed, and kept in service intact after WWII until the late 70's. |

Does the name, "The Carpenters" enter into the picture at all? If so, you have my deepest sympathy.

I was navigator on something even older than the 135: KC-97L. Long tale why the 97's were brought back, but it made the job fun; we were among the last guys who really had to navigate rather than sit and monitor the electronics. For refueling, it was state of the art stuff, much like ATC equipment, but for overwater, it was sextant, Loran, consol(an), and pressure differential.
