A program I chaperoned a few years back had to send a few kids home for drinking. They made it through bag inspections. Vodka in a couple of old shampoo bottles.

Wow! There have been situations in the past when the parents had to drive the 7 hrs ? up to Killington to retrieve their kids due to infractions. In one case, the parents were balking about having to drive during the night to get their kids! Well, they weren't given a choice & the parents sign off on these terms when the kids register for the trip!
Fortunately neither of mine ever put me in that situation!

I was boring in high school. Aside from small quantities of beer in the presence of family, I didn't drink.

I saved my liver for college. :D

After a very yucky episode w/screwdrivers when I participated in a HS Model UN @ Harvard -- I really was not much of a drinker in HS or college. Still pretty much of a lightweight, -- although when I lived in Brasil -- those caipirinhas went down awfully smooth!;)

Wish I could say the same. When you get to college already unable to drink Jack Daniels because the taste is too closely associated with throwing up, you know your senior year of high school was well spent.

It is down in the low 90's here now. Hard to believe that it will get down to low 70's tonite.

After much searching I have sadly concluded that it is no longer possible to see Dallas from a DC-9 at night.

I was just trolling the UA site. I need to get up to speed with their customers. They are currently complaining that boarding starts before the 'official' time and they don't like that.

I was a good girl and refrained from adding my thoughts on the matter.

Thankfully I'll only be in a suit for two days.

Very late; migrating 45GB of data over 100mbps. Going to bed. Night, Box.

I simply loved the flying cockroaches there.

I wonder if you can still buy bootleg DVDs and CDs from the road side vendors? You could also pick up alot of books for almost nothing too. Back in the 80s, Taiwan was a perfect place to find plenty of items that broke every trademark law.

Those would be the roaches that flew in from Hawaii. I'm surprised you haven't complained about the cockroaches while in Hawaii.

The best tourist story I heard was from a girlfriend that use to man the front desk at the Hyatt Regency. She got a hysterical call from one of the rooms complaining about a roach. After she stopped laughing silently, she almost asked her if it was walking or flying but figured she would have seen the guest leaping from her window.

Roaches were a major fact of life living in Hawaii. :D

Well, if you've got any suggestions as to what to see and do, please PM me -- In addition to a day in Taipei at the start, I've scheduled two vacation days at the end of the trip.

I only remember going to the National Museum. The rest of my stay was just wondering around town looking for stuff to buy. I think I was only there for a night or two.
