I'm glad I read through that thread to get some destination ideas. At first, I was going to do DFW-MKE on Midwest, to catch a Brewers game and cross Wisconsin off my list of states I haven't yet visited. Then I thought... Hmmm, no positioning costs for Frontier flights... :-:

Frontier is still a new carrier for me, regardless.

A318 to DEN? Makes the 735 look huge. :D

I seem to have survived the walk to the pizza place so I guess x-rays are not in order but cold drinks after work are.:D@:-)

Warning: I walked around on two broken feet for over a month. By the time I realized it wasn't tendinitis, one foot had already healed and the other required a walking boot cast for 6 weeks.

You might want to reconsider getting those x-rays.

Looks like F1 in Austin will be convenient to the airport.^

Although Hellmund has yet to divulge details of what he calls a "killer location," he confirmed that the site is to the east of the city, a few miles from the airport. It is said to be in hilly countryside that has provided Tilke with a good starting point for a design.

Anyone have any opinions and/or recommendations regarding Asheville NC? I decided not to go home between weeks in CLT, and now I'm looking at the prospect of a long weekend with no plans.

Great town; lots to do in the national parks surrounding it, too. I did summer camp up that way for 4 years (including flights into AVL that I don't have on my map because I cannot remember the years).

Hmmm. No schedule change on my DCA-ONT itinerary.

IAH-DCA on Sunday morning was at 7:30am, now at 8:55am with no alert.

Ah, that explains it. I'm doing the red-eye back from ONT. :-:

Good advice. When I used to run, I injured myself and apparently lived (and continued to run) with a broken foot for about 7 years. The break healed but not in the way it should have... The surgery that was required to fix that was very unpleasant.

I was actually more tempted to get a flight into RAP, to see Mount Rushmore and the Badlands, but I couldn't find any weekend availability on the promo fare. Looks like F9 limits that bucket on the Q400 flights (which is what flies to RAP).

Now I just need a good Rita recipe....

LOL. I don't think we'll be staying at Amangani. Looks like the cheapest room (off-season rate, mind you) is $875/night.

There's a moto-cross area on Pearce Lane (dead-ends about 2 mi south of terminal end of the field) that's just rolling hills w/ mesquite and scrub; landhold bets on the alignment of the TransTx corridor*. Pearce has an exit off the bi-pass tollroad, and there is just nothing out there. It'd be perfect.

*Bad bets, I think. The corridor, if ever built, will not go through Travis Co for political, as well as Colorado River crossing, reasons.

Wowsers. I can't imagine paying that kind of money for a hotel room unless significant services were included.
