I think I'm packed. Ahead of schedule; this is a first.

I need to load the car; drop of bljr and hit the golf store before picking up Plus1.

Is this flat water tubing or are there rapids? I've gone tubing on rapids and probably wouldn't do it again because having your behind dragged over rocks is rather painful. On the other hand, white water rafting is :-:.

It is mostly flat water. There are some very minor rapids in a few places but they are the kind that are fun in a tube and not the kind that make you worry about the beer. :-:

Rank order of airline phone customer service.

2. Alaska, spent 8 minutes on the phone.

We're building a home so will have to move again in 4 or 5 months. This doesn't include my current home (on the market) that will have to be moved into a storage facility and then moved into the new house when ready.

So maybe not four "full fledged" moves - but it's going to be a bunch more packing and $$$ to have all the crap carted around the city.

Most of the stuff from the other rental house is in boxes. We've decided it is in our best interest to eat off of paper plates, etc, while in this temporary establishment just so we don't have to deal with digging through all the boxes.

I hear your pain. We are still living in the rental and have furniture, etc. here as well as two storage units full of stuff, all of which has to be moved to the Lake house once it is finished - probably in year 2050 at this rate ...:(

How to solve a Continental problem

1. Call.
2. Realize the person on the phone isn't going to help you.
3. Hang up.
4. Call back.
5. Finally solve the problem.

Fixed it for ya! Well, at least, that was my experience on Friday at MEM/IAH!

DEFINITELY head down town and get a room there. The tube will get you to Knightsbridge or downtown in fairly short order (40mins) and the fare is relatively cheap. If you can get an Oyster card for traveling around the city which will include the fare from Heathrow if need be. You can get a decent rate in London right now on hotels.

The tube starts early enough in the morning to get you back to Heathrow in time for your flight. You won't have to worry about you bags at all, just lugging them up/down the caverns of the tube stations.

Agree.

I'm VERY used to obtaining bruises (if I'm lucky - otherwise, cuts and scrapes) on a regular basis, from a variety of sources. :p

Lucky you. I was on hold for over 10 minutes with US on Friday night and then spent another 15 minutes agitating with the agent (end outcome: zilch). All this happened while I was in line at the "Special Service" desk at LGA, an experience that took well over an hour. I would have taken photos of the horrendous line, except that my phone battery was hovering in the <5% range (and eventually died) and I was carrying a tremendously heavy backpack and a large, bulky rolled-up yoga mat to bring home to my mother (if she ever goes to a yoga class, I will be happy to eat my words). It was not one of my more graceful moments.
