I think I'm going to book a LH F ticket this weekend and go entrap the UA IAD lounge dragons. When I was flying LH F a couple of weeks ago, they refused to let me into the IFL, even though UA policy allows admittance for *A international F; and refused to give me drink chits and a T Mobile password at the RCC because I wasn't flying UA metal. As I was arguing with one of the RCC matrons, the lounge dragon next to the one I was working with denied a RCC member a T Mobile card because he was just a RCC member, not flying UA C or F, another error. That guy didn't have the gumption to argue.

I did not have the time or inclination to call over a supervisor or escalate, and just went back to the LH SEN lounge, which is much nicer than the RCCs and IFL anyway. But, I do want to go back and call them out on their BS.

Today in History: In 1999, SETI@Home is launched. In the mean time, the search for intelligent life on this planet still continues.

I think all the hotels around LHR are pretty bad. Even after the refurbishing, the Marriott wasn't much nicer ourside of the lobby.

Sheraton Skyline wasn't too bad. Good lounge, bad food options.

Bad and expensive.

Haven't stayed at the Marriott since the refurb, but if it's as bad as you say, it's not worth the price difference from the Rennaissance.

I think the nicest LHR hotel at which I've stayed was Jury's. It was cheap, too, via priceline or hotels.com, or wherever I got it. IIRC, it was only about a 10-minute walk to Hatton Cross with nice views of aproaches on the way. The Ren and Marriott have better views of the runways, though.

The lounge at the Ren was good too, but didn't make up for the overall craptasticness of the rooms.

Okay, Texas Boxers...and any other Boxers who will be in the vicinity. Texas Yankee and I have re-set our visit to Cooper's BBQ in Llano to June 12th between 1 and 2 PM. Anyone in the general area is welcomed to join us. Send me a PM if you want to be advised of the details as they come together.

Still unsure whether I'll be able to make the GABFest on June 26th, but if anyone is looking for a place to do lunch on that day, I'm taking the Mrs. to Hut's around 2:30 PM. Might be a good launching point for the GABFest, if nothing else.

Can I ask...what is 2.0?

I will be in NYC/Jeresy for Soccer DO, so no BBQ for me this time. And 2.0...the first rule of fight club is not to talk about fight club. :D

Saw that. I might meet up with you guys somewhere along the way, but I'm not a fan of tubing.

By the way, be very careful of Johnny Law down near Gruene...I hear they are cracking down on those folks who drink and tube. ;)

Last time I stayed there they were still in the middle of refurbishment and I was on the old side. :(
