I did it twice, but I was in my 20s. I would have a very, very hard time doing it now.

Had you flown international J/C/F at the time?

Let's just say I don't think it's going to be easy.

His dealership in ANC provided Mrs. Mackie with a 16% interest rate on a car loan. This was a year before we met. All of my credit cards have lower interest rates than that. It was incredibly .

Also, at least Mattress Mac seems to be a decent human being.

The WN Effect, IMO. Just as Austin will make all top ten lists, regardless of the issue, anything WN related makes the top of surveys and lists because...well, it's obvious, isn't it?

The WN Effect aside, AUS is a fairly nice airport. The only thing I wish they had is moving sidewalks for the haul down to 24.

I'm probably more likely to focus on building up my SPG balance, since we've spent those points as quickly as I've earned them the last few years, and maybe chasing after a renewal of at least Marriott Gold, since I'd only have to toss them a few stays to get there.

I'll have less than 40 nights to go for lifetime plat after my next Marriott stay. I try and hit SPG whenever I can because I prefer them, and like you, my balance on SPG goes up and down, never getting nearly as high as I like. For all the MR points I spend, I always seem to have half a million there; it's like kudzu.

I've heard a fair number of stories from former employees that might lead one to believe the opposite.

My Marriott account is quite similar, although lately it has been lower since I've not been staying with them as much. Once my travel to Baton Rouge shut down, so did the Marriott points. Although, it's quite possible that next year I'll be back to regular trips there, and tons of Marriott stays.

I split 8 tapas dishes with my buddy for lunch and am in desperate need for a siesta.

Yes, but only a few times and I didn't have enough miles to swing C for 2 (in hindsight, I would have done both trips alone in C, but hindsight is always 20/20 ;) ). I also hadn't discovered FT :)

Thanks for the good comments, all. ^

Off to work...first time I'm really concerned about staying upright in this heat.

Yes, it is. And in spite of my poking fun at Austin, it is a great and vibrant city. And, one to which I now have to leave for. *

* Henry III, this is, after all, Texas.

Amex just doubled my limit. Time to go buy more refundable airline tickets.
