5/19 or 5/20 may be possibilities for me...

I'm not going to be in NJ those dates, but will be here (Bridgewater) the week of 5/24-27... and chance of the 24/25/26?

:)

Howdy Box.
Nice night of sleep, on the floor

Yawn. Hellacious wind storm came through last night, kept me up for a while. Such is life; time to get ready for work.

g'day box.

Anyone have any experience with noise reducing earbuds? Preferably ones they sell on Amazon for less than $100.

You're definitely going to want Active Noise Cancelling rather than passive, since the latter is essentially just plugging your ear with the bud and pumping music in.

I disagree. I much prefer my buds to my previous active n/c set.

Buenas . Late SkyTeam flight + need to wake up at 5:30 am =. Plus it took forever to get to the hotel because of construction and accidents on the giant highway that runs through Atlanta.

That may be in my future, I am sad to say. That movie appears to fit daughter #1's sense of humor. (I had to take her to the talking guinea pig movie, too.)

I have the low-end Shure noise-canceling earbuds, which work pretty well. I'd recommend them. I think the Amazon price is $99 or less.

ETA I think that I hear less noise with the Shures vs. the Sennheiser noise-reducing 'phones I have; which ones I bring depends on how full my bag is and whether I want to be able to hear in-flight announcements.

There are buds with active noise cancelling, so you can have both.

I was actually suggesting such. I can't sleep with the full earpiece headphones, so the buds are a must for me.

Lots of t-storms around Chicago last night. 2+ inches of rain reported in my area. Looks like the storm sewers are  - had 6-8" of standing water along a half-block stretch of flat land in my neighborhood.

Just as long as I don't get seepage in the basement like the 15" in 36 hours we had in '08, I'm OK.

I'm not an audiophile by any stretch of the imagination, but I appreciate a better sound quality than what the standard iPod earbuds provide (which, are actually not terrible). My big thing is being able to hear what I'm listening to, with decent quality, over the roar of the engines (cause, you know, I never get upgraded) and drowning out some of the other cabin noise nonsense.

I can't imagine an earbud would be a true noise-canceling experience, which I'm fine with. I really don't want to lug around those big ear muff things.

ETA: I also religiously listen to music whilst working out, so they should be moderately rugged.
