So the ridiculous one-upper whom I work with and whom (did I use that right :rolleyes:v) I believe sent herself $600 worth of flowers to work for her birthday is trying to tell me that she spent close to $10K on a 5-day Carnival cruise. She claims she spent $2k for her stateroom, a suite. $2K for jewelry in the Bahamas, $4K in stateroom charges and I forgot what else because I stop listening once I calculated $10K in charges on a crappy Carnival trash bag cruise.

My other co-workers say I should convince her to take a trip by telling her I found a great mistake fare to Sierra Leone. :-:

NEVER. AGAIN.

Ahhhh. wild times in Cancun. Good times. We were a group of four guys and one of the guys in our entourage was a male underwear model. A word of advice, never travel with a male underwear model. You will not get any tail. :-::eek::rolleyes:

I would like to visit CUN again, just not March-April. :-:

I'd highly recommend either MZT, PVR, or ACA before trying out CUN again, if you've never been to any of those.

PVR is better for activities on land. ACA is better for sportfishing. Depending on the time of year, MZT can be one of the best spots in North America to fish for Marlin/Sailfish, as it sits at the mouth of the Gulf of California, at a confluence of currents. Unfortunately, Japanese longliners have decimated billfish populations there over the past decade (as they have in many other areas of the world). Fishing aside, MZT is a very fun town.

I should mention this to the s/o. He likes to go fishing. I don’t know why, but the s/o is very leery of south/central American travel. I have to be very careful and introduce safe, clean resort towns such as PVR and ACA before I can hit him with Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Peru and Rio. :-:

Glad you think so. :p

Ohhhh...sorry to hear that. Hopefully there were some happy memories mixed in as well. I'm sure he must have told you some great stories about the old college days!

Actually (and only since you asked for it - I don't otherwise publicly smack down grammar unless it's my students, since that's kind of my job, or tjtenor4, because I know he would - and does - do the same for me any day) it's "with whom I work" and "who sent herself" (since the "who" refers to the subject of the verb in that clause, not the object...

And I'm a huge dork. Thank you, half-a-college-major in Latin (learned almost all my grammar there, not in any English class). Time to quit while I'm . Night, Box.

Good morning, Box, from scenic CLL. Hope we don't meet Bambi on the road back to AUS.

Yes, Stanford has a cool campus!^ Trustguy, I can totally understand how you were feeling while you were stepping in the very place that your dad loved -- I know he was there in spirit, with you.

It's been 21 yrs since my mom passed away & it's still hard on Mother's Day(s), & when things are tough with my kids (whom she never got to see). :( She really, really wanted grandkids -- and I know she is my kids' guardian angel above and watches over them!^

PVR is one of our favorite destinations. I will send you a link to a great little restaurant.

Let me know when you are at CLE - I'd be happy to welcome you to the central hub in person if I can.
