I tried to avoid meds w/my daughter -- but after being in intense labor for 10 hrs (with no sleep for over 28 hrs,), I was exhausted & had no idea I was trying to deliver a 9 lb 5oz baby (neither did the docs)! So, I was finally given an epidural & allowed to take a nap for 90 min. before a rather  delivery ( --just grateful that it didn't require an emergency C)! With my son ('only 7.5 lbs'), -- he was practically born in the car -- I honestly didn't even look pregnant, while I was carrying him!;)

I would say that it totally depends on the person & the situation with the labor & baby. I loved not having any meds after my son's birth -- I was on the phone 15 min. later!:D

I started listening to books on CD during my drive to work (32 miles one way) and it beats the hell out of the radio. :-:

I am old school. My car (a 1999 Corolla) doesn't have a CD player.

Books on tape?

I usually can't read in cars, but when I commuted by bus I could at least read the paper. Perhaps that's a comment on the quality of the newspaper.

You're working on the asumption I even know where my old walkman and discman are provided I still have them.

I would ripping/encoding and listening to them on a mp3 player/phone. A bit labor intensive with all the disc swapping, but there's software that'll help with the process.

:rollpuck: will be thrilled to see that AA has what could quite possibly be the worst US-PEK schedule in existence. Maybe AA got the slots that no one else wAAnted for free.

I am not thrilled. A lot of good people work for AA and a lot of good people travel people on AA. It is just sad that the AA is a total train wreck.

LUV the response. I never sure I was normal either! I'm probably your mom's age too. I was told I'd never have kids because I was so tiny (etc)! Wrong!!!

Was it the docs who told you you'd never have kids, or other unenlightened folks? -- what a strange comment!

The funniest thing is that while pregnant with my daughter -- I was eating tons, as was the dad (so suppportive to be accompanying me as I ate through my pregnancy)!:D Well, I lost that baby weight in a couple of months -- it took the ex - 2 yrs to lose his 'baby' weight!:D

Agree on all counts. I thought you were more virulently anti-AA than that.
