I think the guy genuinely misplaced it, especially after reading the interview with the bar's manager.

The body of the phone may change a little from the prototype but I think it is Apple refining the design.

I have one. I cannot for the life of me figure out what I'm supposed to use it for. It is huge, so not particularly portable. The battery life is just OK. The screen isn't great for reading.

I've been told about apps that I should look in to but most are just iPhone apps so they look like crap on the screen. Beyond a glorified video player I'm not sure what I should be using it for.

The best use of it is to pretend it is an iPhone while you are on a plane :p

Apple has partnered with Fisher-Price to release a new iphone for General Members. Photos were recently released:

I guess I'm kind of in the same boat. Netbooks are too small and awkward for my taste and a Kindle serves no purpose beyond being an eReader. If the iPad can be a good eReader for me and pick up some basic computing tasks, I think I will be quite happy keeping it.

That's what I'm thinking. I usually don't have space to bring books, and I'm not allowed to load software or video on my company-issued laptop. However, schlepping two computers around, even if one is a netbook, is pretty . An iPad is more likely to fit in my laptop bag, and I probably wouldn't use it for any complex computing tasks anyway.

I think the guy was drunk and really did misplace it, but I don't know
Apple is so  sometimes that you never know with them.

Plus you don't have to take it out of your bag for the TSA. ;)

to tell you the truth, i thought it looked to blocky or squared for an apple product. they normally go for the rounded edges, of course being a prototype it may not have final design.

It fits the look of the iMacs and MacBook Pros.

I guess the new models moreso, the older iphones were more akin to the Air

IMO it only makes more sense to have more depth through the entire back of the phone, larger battery, more internal space there.

I don't. In Silicon Valley, things can make it to techie websites real fast.;) Yeah, it seems like it's a perfect setup. But, I think that Apple being such a controlling company, this incident is genuine.

In any case, I'd love to have the iPhone on Verizon's network. Though, I'd like to try out ssullivan's phone as well.

I agree; Marriott's low-end properties leave a lot to be desired. I especially dislike Courtyards (except a handful of newer properties). So many have not been renovated since their construction, and the lumpy beds available in even the newer or recently renovated properties make for sleepless nights. They usually are fairly pricey, also, for what they offer. I stayed at one near the airport in MSP a couple of months ago, and felt as if I had returned to 1994. The one in downtown Bellevue, Washington is probably the best one at which I have stayed, as I recall. Most of the ones in which I have stayed, however, made me feel as if I was staying in a cheap motel and paying full-service hotel prices for the privilege.

I've stayed in some nice Courtyards but mostly I find them usually just OK. Marriott has tried several times to improve that brand but always seems to strike out. All too often a Courtyard is the best, if not only option, if you're not in a large city. Given that situation I'll almost always pick a Hilton Garden Inn or Hampton over a Courtyard or Fairfield. The beds are better, the rooms often more modern and more recently renovated, and there's at least an attempt to recognize elite status. Marriott may have once been a true innovator with the Courtyard brand, but that was 20 years ago. They've long since been passed by the competition in that segment and don't really even seem to care.

I'm watching an interview with Richard Branson. He said the head of Virgin Group suggested their new airline slogan should be "Sh!t happens."
