Good food and easy to get around. That's all I really ask.

I've always had bad luck with the barbecue there that everyone raves about. Never had a good meal there.

As for easy to get around, that it does have going for itself.

It's also quite a relic. The place looks virtually no different than it did when I was there as a kid on trips to visit grandparents in the area. We're talking 1978-1981. About the only thing that's really changed are the stores and restaurants, and the types of planes parked at the gates.

Are you going to one of the many Corky's or the Interstate?

What's wrong with TYR? You can show up like 30 minutes before the flight and you're good. Takes all of 2 minutes to drop a rental car, print a boarding pass, check a bag, and you'll still have to wait 10 minutes for them to open security. And it's one of the nicest small town airport terminals anywhere.

ABI on the other hand, while having the benefits of a small airport, is just a hole. But that could be said about the entire city too.

TYR is ground handling, gate checks all go to baggage claim and they take forever. They can't get their act together when it is cold leaving you very delayed(oops we needed deicing fluid today?), and there are only vending machines if you want something to drink.

I not so sure the last part truely has changed! It seems the same planes land and take off there as they did in the late 70s earlier 80s!! Atleast if flying the New DL!! :)

Not a very good night around here, nothing going well :( At least if tomorrow is as grey and dreary as it has been, I will just sleep.

I finally got :rolleyes:v into JFK T5 the other night. He was suitably impressed. It really is a nice terminal.

The last time I was in JFK T5 was 1996, when it was still TWA's home. The interior fittings were kind of dumpy-looking (as befitting TWA at the time), but the building itself was ^. Memorable enough that I still remember.

Also memorable for the fact that the flight I took out of there was TW800, about 4 months before the one that exploded.

I like Orange and Blue as well, although probably a different one:
