Just got my latest edition of Travel & Leisure, wherein best and worst US Airports are ranked.

My thoughts:  Apparently this person hasn't used Terminals C or D at IAD, or tried to get to JFK at rush hour, or been delayed past 9PM at ATL, or tried to afford anything at Gucci SFO. I agree that MIA and LAX are generally holes, though the international terminal at LAX isn't so bad. EWR is delayed, everyone knows this. But bag delays are not something that is commonly associated with IAH, and the walk from customs down to get your bag is shorter than the hop from C to E. |

ATL is a dump, end of story. They may have added retailers but now it's just an ugly pig with lipstick. And the only thing pigs are good for is bacon.....
And ham. And pork chops. |

There's a huge difference between the speed of bags coming off at terminal C for domestic flights, and at terminal E for international. Bags come off at E lightning-quick. Bags at A & B generally come out in a reasonable amount of time, as well. I don't know what the deal is with C, but wait times there can be ridiculo.

The list of airports that don't suck is a lot shorter than the list of airports that do suck...
Non-Suck Aerodromes: HOU IAH PDX FLL MSP CLT DCA AMS MEX Terminal 2 PTY SCL LIM MUC HEL HKG AKL BKK (Huge, but ) I'm sure there's some I've left off the list, but those are all pretty good, IMHO. |

I like DTW if you are in the main terminal, GVA is good, and getting better with renovations ongoing(they should be done already). GRK is ^ but it is small, TYR and ABI are small but are teh suck.
I have been to several of those on your list and no complaints, MKE is bordering on non suckage too. ABI on the other hand, while having the benefits of a small airport, is just a hole. But that could be said about the entire city too. |

IAD B is rather nice and A isn't too horrible for a RJ terminal. |

What's wrong with TYR? You can show up like 30 minutes before the flight and you're good. Takes all of 2 minutes to drop a rental car, print a boarding pass, check a bag, and you'll still have to wait 10 minutes for them to open security. And it's one of the nicest small town airport terminals anywhere.
