Now paging Dr. Bendover.

Drinking beers at the Sea Dog Brewing Company restaurant near PWM. Serious standby shenanigans today with B6. But the beers are pretty good, so no big deal.

Despite the 46 degrees, we're sitting at the ice cream drive in awaiting some snacks.:D The hot fudge part will warm me up.

Went to the corner store (ordinary source of cheap beer) 1.5 blocks away. They are now carrying Shiner, Shiner Hefeweizen, and Shiner Black Lager.

Had to go to the car for the Zyrtec ...

Greetings from ALB. This area is a meca for food variety and things new. There's Chilli's, Applebee's, P.F. Changs, Macoroni Grill, Olive Garden, Friday's and the Cheesecake factory. Lunch involved sandwiches that had giant creotons triangles for the bread (just as hard and the same color) so it involved surgery to make a sandwich that wouldn't break my teeth, wouldn't cut the inside of my mouth much less to fit in my mouth so I could try to take a bite.

Not to stereotype but wouldn't one think "PHL" even if it weren't in the article?

Oh boy, education isn't just for the young :D
You will be amazed at what they need money for (or think they do).

I had that initial thought but realized I was already ambivalent on my happiest days toward the agency.

I just told mine that they got 4 years of post secondary education and that was that. My oldest got his Masters from GW on his own, and now works for who else, the Government (Homeland Security).

You can but liquid smoke in.

I love how when reading online reviews of hotels in Hawaii, I find posts saying things like "The hotel was fabulous, but we were especially thrilled that there was a Cheesecake Factory and a Cold Stone Creamery within a couple of blocks. You should definitely eat at those while you're here!"

Um, no.

I guess to some people the idea of eating out on vacation means "hit all the chain restaurants." I'd much rather experience the local cuisine and spend at least one meal in one of the area's finest local establishments than eat bland reheated mass produced "food" at a chain restaurant that exists in every city with more than 500,000 residents these days.

There are some good food chains out there. I am more about consistancy but enjoy trying new places.

So, any recommendations on where to burn points in Hawaii for hotel rooms? Looking at the Westin Moana Surfrider right now, but I've also got a TON of Marriott points, and a decent amount of Hilton points, as well as a stack of free night certificates from Hilton as well. I'm determined not to pay for a single hotel night on this trip. We need that cash for other things right now.

The Hilton Village is not bad. i stayed there as a non-status member and enjoyed the time.

As far as restaurants, I would go here Huggos great food, music, and right on the water. There is also a night cruise. Free MaiTais and one other drink, tons of food, and danceing on your tables by the locals afterwards!!

Thanks! I was looking at the Hawaiian Village as well. It's a possibility especially if they'll let me use the free night certificates from the first and second quarter Hilton promos.

The Moana Surfrider is one of the oldest hotels on Waikiki. It's an older historic property, with newer additions as well.

Also this property is near other nicer ones you could go to for meals and such. Also while it is a chain, there is a Roys in that general area!! YUMMY!!

To its credit, the Hilton promotion for a free night after four stays isn't bad. It's also a more flexible free night than the Starwood one, as the Starwood night is only good on weekends. The Hilton promotion also gives you a free night certificate that has a full year of eligibility. So I don't have a problem with Hilton requiring an extra stay for a more flexible free night promotional certificate than what Starwood is requiring.

I got three from the first quarter promotion that I need to burn!!

Teh Hilton on Galveston wasn't bad (stayed there shortly after it reopened). My favorite hotel on the island, though, is Tremont House (Wyndham Historic Hotel).

Is that the one near the Strand?

Is it just me or will we soon hear at EWR: "I am sorry sir, but te Volcanic ash is causing your flight delay to San Diego!"

In other news, I think I am finally on the road to recovery. I had a great delayed date from wednesday night last night. We went to this wine bar called Rumors in East BNA. Great little neighborhood place!! Recommend for anyone here or who visits!!

Getting ready for a nice date tonight with dinner and maybe a movie! I broke him in gently about FT. He was like, I have really only flown SWA, I dont like layovers. I responded why I dont mind layovers (ie drinks in the PC) and he said, perhaps I need to travel more with you!! ^ Hope yall have a great night!
