Im back, and now a homeowner and resident of NJ :p. Yesterday was pretty much hell at the closing as the unit is still not complete. Im only at work until 11:30 today then I have to go home and take deliveries of furniture. No internet at home for another 2 weeks  but at least we are out of that dump of a hotel "Quality Inn" in Long Island City.
I'm surprised no one's made the comment about not hotel-hopping in the interim period. |
Morning, Box. Multiquote catchup ahead.

Here in Houston there is no zoning. So... with the wind blowing the right way and the windows open, I am breathing in... the smell of fortune cookies!^ About 3 streets over and 2 streets up. I am hungry.

For our resident Wii users, do you have an SD card installed and if so, how large?

A fancy name for the bride and victim sitting together, by themselves. That notion bothers me, and I recall posting my thoughts on it. But that option beats the hell out of live music.

It isn't all about the bride. It is about the wedding. It is for both of you. Anyone who doesn't get that doesn't understand the concept of marriage correctly. |

Home ownership is ^ (the vast majority of the time).
I'm surprised no one's made the comment about not hotel-hopping in the interim period. there is only room for so many crazy people in the world. You have to be able to come home from work and kick back somewhere with a little routine as bad as it may be. |

If you go into it with that approach you're going to lose.

Not generally viable in NYC, especially when it is really "home" for the interim period.

Just looked at my portfolio and realized my allocation is odd for my age (but fine for my "number of years from retirement") - the top four holdings are Berkshire, a paper company, mini-Berkshire, and an oil company.
BTW - are mnmag and ConciergeMike still wanting a credential to the Berkshire Annual Meeting? |

I love owning a home but there are indeed some things one doesn't have to deal with when a tenant instead.

Good morning Box. Finally got my aircard working again -- for some reason it decided to go on vacation this morning.

The two stocks I bought are doing nicely, but I didn't buy in enough quantity to make real gains...I'm just happy with myself that I picked somewhat well.
