No internet at home for another 2 weeks  but at least we are out of that dump of a hotel "Quality Inn" in Long Island City.

Home ownership is ^ (the vast majority of the time).

I'm surprised no one's made the comment about not hotel-hopping in the interim period.

Working in a bakery is going to be the death of me. Rosemary and olive oil Triscuits are running today. Smells so good.

For our resident Wii users, do you have an SD card installed and if so, how large?

1 or 2 GB.

DJ - music is higher quality, more choices, volume can be adjusted.

When my FIL made payment arrangments with the DJ, the deal was half up-front, half at the end of the night. The second half would be withheld if the DJ did not grant him executive authority over the volume slider on his mixing board.

Also, I was acutely aware in Chicago that M&S took the $20 off before assessing sales tax ^

I love when that happens around here, what with our obscene 10.25% sales tax (which hits 11.25% in some towns that add a dining tax).

A fancy name for the bride and victim sitting together, by themselves. That notion bothers me, and I recall posting my thoughts on it. But that option beats the hell out of live music.

We did it for our wedding. Wasn't so bad, since we were only sitting there basically while we were eating. Rest of the time was socializing, etc. I think the wedding party appreciated it, since most of them had SOs with them. That way they could sit together, and we got around to everyone.

If you go into it with that approach you're going to lose.

It isn't all about the bride. It is about the wedding. It is for both of you. Anyone who doesn't get that doesn't understand the concept of marriage correctly.

there is only room for so many crazy people in the world. You have to be able to come home from work and kick back somewhere with a little routine as bad as it may be.

Not generally viable in NYC, especially when it is really "home" for the interim period.

I love owning a home but there are indeed some things one doesn't have to deal with when a tenant instead.

God help me if I ever go through another elaborate traditional wedding ceremony again. Destination wedding or bust, I say.

Just looked at my portfolio and realized my allocation is odd for my age (but fine for my "number of years from retirement") - the top four holdings are Berkshire, a paper company, mini-Berkshire, and an oil company.

BTW - are mnmag and ConciergeMike still wanting a credential to the Berkshire Annual Meeting?

I'm working on a contract with a ukulele player. I've also discussed with our site vendor the location for a beer pong table. I'm worried about the sea breeze influencing the ping pong balls. Task for next week is to see if I can import the burro to SC. It's either that or a limo golf-cart. :-:

ConciergeMike Mar 12, 2010 7:48 am

The two stocks I bought are doing nicely, but I didn't buy in enough quantity to make real gains...I'm just happy with myself that I picked somewhat well.
