I need to get myself motivated to sell my Hard Rock leftovers. There is still a community on eBay that is interested in the vintage pins that I have, and I'm just dreading writing and assembling the listings.

Do most, if not all, online brokerages lump the cost of the trade in as a loss in your portfolio? I'm still getting the hang of this and I find it annoying that costs of acquisition are not broken out separately from the performance of the stocks themselves.

Most brokerages I've dealt with include the transaction cost in with the basis.

I'm thinking the same. Ideally, I'd like for him to fly CO with me (I'll be in Texas for work, flying IAH-SFO) on a revenue ticket so he earns the miles, as he'd be practically Silver with those miles and if we're able to pull off the planned Hawaii trip in May and do that on a revenue ticket as well. On the other hand, cash flow is a little tight at the moment, and I anticipate we have some large expenses coming in the next few months with his job search and a possible relocation, as well as other items that need attention, like buying new tires for the car and a TV set that's about to completely die. So, while I'd love to save the 50,000 miles, I can't really justify a $400+ ticket right now either.

US F it is, provided he's agreeable to that, which he most likely will be.

I'm really starting to hope he gets a job he's interviewing for next week, even though it will mean our April is going to be insane with a fast move. Not only would it probably be a much better job and work environment, but he'd be traveling about 50% of the time. That means we'd both have status, and both have nice balances of miles and points to draw on, as opposed to mostly using my accounts for award travel redemptions.

Yep. I've always seen it that way.

NAS is FANTASTIC, it gets me to ELH or MHH

Well, I have started booking my flights to EWR.

Looks like I'll be in the Raritan/Bridgewater area for a couple of weeks. Details to follow.

At least the flights for next week are all B-fares - thus, I'm already up front. :)

Especially with E+ out there and EUA's becoming more and more elusive (especially on very high Y [cabin] fares) I have little / no motivation to book on CO. Exit rows are all fine and dandy but my itinerary changes so often (and I book so late) they aren't so easy to get.

If I am on a Y/B fare and there is no F seat avail at ticketing, I book on UA.

I did this countless numbers of times on my weekly transcon runs. It was pretty obvious in my patterns that I was only flying EWR-LAX/SFO on CO (for some reason it was always the eastbound flights that were full).

Cool news about son's band -- they're in the 'finals' of 'The Break' contest!^ Finals will be @ Stone Pony in AP in April. For anyone who's curious, here's their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/rhubarbjones

I'd pick CCS. I'll only go to BON if I'm diving and there isn't enough time to do that on a weekend special. NAS is a hole.

Speaking of checking one's portfolio too often - just logged into my brokerage, sold 200 shares of last year's big winner, used proceeds to buy 100 shares in oil trust.
