Thank god for a state like New Hampshire with no adult seat belt law. If it helps thin the ranks of the stupid and dumb, I'm all for it.^

I need to get my amendment done ASAP. Along with about 1,000 other things.

Those like myself that believe stupid non seatbelt people should be able to weed out the population on their own, and those that think requiring it is best. :p

Yep, that was a big debate.

If they only affected themselves I would agree with the sentiment. But when they end up in emergency rooms with zero health insurance and more critical injuries than they otherwise would have had they been wearing a seat belt and then they depend on my tax dollars to pay for their enormous health care bills I think that it is OK to tell them what to do.

My decision is economic, not compassionate.

Thanks. Luckily it was not the real deal or the trip would be cancelled. This just means I ride the sofa for the rest of the week before we depart on Sunday.

We already went through all this, I was simply saying it was one of the larger debates here. I am not getting into it all again.

BTW, one thing I really like about the Box is the ability to share perspectives and have a good dialogue ... even when we have very different points of view.

I also like the lighter aspects of the banter and fun and games :D

1. She made a huge mistake in not waiting to write the letter.
2. The comment about putting the kid on the tray tables is excellent poor-taste humor. I'd deck the schmuck that told me to do that to my kid, but at my stage of life the dark humor made me smile.
3. She ran into a bad crew. Luck of the draw.
4. She was unprepared for the trip, and should have sought out more help pre-departure.

1. Agree 100%
2. Agree it was black humor (and it did make me laugh, too, but it was a ridiculous suggestion!)
3. Agree
4. I think she tried her best by making requests, and then when they didn't materialize allowed herself to become overwhelmed. She was probably very emotional because of her sick father, too.

Completely agree.

Also, traveling in emotional situations (OP mentioned it was an unplanned trip as her father had fallen ill) can make things harder for everyone involved.

Oh dear. You may regret offering your help ....:p I have managed to call VErizon and get it set up, so now it is "my" phone. I now have to figure out how to use it!

I have been playing with it for half an hour and the one thing that I already do not like is the fact that I cannot seem to pinch and zoom like I can on my iTouch. You have to double tap to enlarge, and it doesn't increase in size anywhere near as much as the iTouch does. For someone like me with failing reading eyesight that's a big :td: because it means I have to have my reading glasses on, whereas on the iTouch I can enlarge it up the wazoo. :(

A police officer saw a car speeding down the highway. He started chasing after the speeder . When he got close he saw it was a blonde woman who was actually knitting while driving.

The cop yelled, Pull over!

The blonde shouted back, No! Its a sweater!
