All Andriod phones are ALL ABOUT the google, not about desktop.

Personally I like the Pre and would have gone with Pre Plus :) it does google, and so much more built in.

(1) to be able to make/receive phone calls

No problem there. ;)

(2) to be able to get my emails sent to my phone automatically

The "Add Account" in the email should step you through that. Unless of course you have a Road Runner account - you can't send email from a non RR network. You can receive it though.

(3) to be able to get onto the internet quickly and with a clear screen

No problem.

(4) to be able to sync to my outlook calendar and contacts (not exchange server)

I don't do that but it appears that's the case. Perhaps you can sync Google Calendar/Contacts to Outlook and do it that way.

naaa andriod is good, just have to do some workarounds on it. Palm Pre is easy for all (verizon is marketing it to busy moms!), Andriod is good, even great, but has a lot of tweaking maybe needed for some functions.

you'd' be best to sync your outlook to google, then use the gmail/googe/gcal integration.

My laptop fan makes bad noises when I have to convert lectures to Flash.

No, still going to the conference. It was just that I had the opportunity to get there early and have an extra day of R&R. Now I won't be getting in until late Friday night. Still gives me Saturday though.

Agree about that. I just would want younger children to be seated with an adult.

As long as that adult is its parent, I concur. :D

I give her the benefit of the doubt and offer her a little compassion for her situation.

You are a kind soul, Brit!

too bad, it works for most ISPs and is an official method for many of them to utilize it more flexible (verizon/att for example)
RR likes to be a jerk about their settings, they ignore DNS TTL settings and keep a cache for 48-72 hours as well, or at least did up to a year ago.
:td:
