I picked the SD1000 years ago specifically because it also had the optical viewfinder and I never use it. I'm not sure why. On my SLR, I turn the live video view off because on that, for some reason, I have to use the optical viewfinder.

I use the optical viewfinder for low light situations as I hold the camera stiller that way and reduce the number of blurred shots. Also great in bright light when the LCD washes out.

Absolutely the proper attitude says he as he burns nearly half a million miles to get to SYD. Easy come, easy go.

The half million was mostly what I earned by flying last year so if that is the lumps, I can deal with it. :)

Had a rather  EMS job this evening. Patient decided to attempt a "double lutz" but instead pulled off a "double klutz."

I was going to complain about being cold and wet until I realized my patient had been lying on the ice for a solid 10 - 12 minutes.

Something doesn't seem right about the new PowerShots. I'm considering the SD940 but the few photos taken with it seem dark around the edges and color seems to be non vibrant, very un-Canon like. The size is right.

I will miss the flip out display and optical viewfinder on my A610

Likely just a defective unit. I have always bought Canons and still think they are the best.

I played with some at Best Buy today and I think Canon may have pulled a Toyota. The new models felt cheap and what I saw in the display looked disappointing. The older models were just fine and dandy. I'd go for them but I want the HD video of the new ones.

At least tell me that's two tickets.

I think the use of a viewfinder is more comfortable on an SLR due to weight and protruding lens.

When I first got the SD980 I too was disappointed with the pics on the display but after I downloaded them onto the computer the pics were fine.

Why am I listening to NBC announcers talking about the "early morning light" while watching the Olymipcs at 9pm local. Thanks for the ridiculous tape delay, jackasses.

:td:

Of course. You know Franny and you think that there might be a possibility that I would be going to Oz alone?
