Really??? I totally shocked.

I have always hated NBC coverage, they have NBC, MSNBC, USA, and several other channels, and yet they refuse to do any of them live.

Hi smb12!

Cab rides from the MEX airport are prepaid. There's several providers from the airport, and they all show a cost of $172 MXP to the Wyndham Polanco. To prepay the cab, you stop by their counter at the airport - past immigrations and customs and ask for a specific zone. The Wyndam's address shows as Colonia Anzures which is in Zone 5. It should take you about 20-25 mins to get to the hotel late at night.

To get back to the airport, you could arrange it through the hotel. I will frequently make my own reservation with the airport cabs - they tend to have the best knowledge of the traffic situation to the airport and I don't worry about safety. If you chose to do this, one of the companies is Sitio 300 -- their phone number is 5571-9344 (local #s in Mexico City are 8 digits long). If you don't speak Spanish, this works too -- speak in English to the person who answers the phone and they'll transfer you to an English speaking reservations agent. Tip: I usually tell them I prefer a cab with a radio to ensure they have the latest traffic info.

BTW, when are you heading back to PTY?

Muchas gracias! That is all VERY helpful information. With any luck (i.e. I'm not accused of being a drug mule and back-roomed at immigration) I should be at the hotel by 12:30am and actually get a decent night's sleep.

I'm only in MEX tonight; I'm in PTY for a couple hours tomorrow afternoon and then back in NYC very late tomorrow night.

I have this on the back of my mind as well, but I will be with friends and have receipts of the great fare as well. Let us know if any other tips we need to know :D

Greetings from home back in LA (we left PSP this morning to beat traffic). It was still around 80 here today.

Like the rest of the west coast Boxers, I am frustrated by tape delay...

Making some pork loin for dinner; it has gotten decidedly cold after a fairly mild day. Ah well, it's good for drinking Shiner Frost. :D
