Thank you, Hartmann. I know it is blasphemous to think that the green movement crowd might have it wrong. Must be nice for those that believe to have the mass media on their side.

No, it's just the old platitude of "haw, haw, we have lots of snow, global warming is bulls**t!" that floats around during these events that gets my goat. As if the global warming theory means there will never be any snow anymore ever again. :-:
Or what sbm12 said.

I didn't mean to imply that one view is 100% correct. But suggesting that global warming definitely means less snow is just as bad. I'm just playing on that front. :p

If I am reading this piece correctly, he argues that some activists exaggerated the real evidence of global warming as a way of (clumsily) generating political pressure. I was under the impression that there is scientific consensus that average global temperatures were increasing over the long term -- as witnessed by shrinking polar ice caps, rising sea levels, more extreme weather patterns, etc. The debate centers on how much this is attributable to human activity and what, if anything, should be done about it.

IIRC correctly with the doom and gloom predictions of global warming, the UK is predicted to get pounded with snow like they are getting this year but only worse.

Missing miles posted to BD account ^^
Now remains to be seen how quickly Wyndham miles post! I have a MR at the end of March - a Q-UP on UA that I am crediting to BD. That should re-qalify me for Gold for another year, and I'll have enough miles in the account for a Cash+Miles J award ticket US-South America somewhere. |

We are talking academia types and polical want-a-bees here . They have egos the size of Texas and Alaska combined. The academia types insiste they are correct since they are scholars, get grants, do research, and have three letters after their names. They think they are correct only because they've published a paper even if another person is correct. Besides, some people just love to argue for the sake of arguing.

The issue is way to politicized, on both sides, and like Hartmann I'd like the scientists to do their work, publish their papers and have the scientific method do its job. :-: |
