As for GRU, Brazil is an emerging market ... and they started flights to GIG last year. They have a Caribbean presence and some number of flights to Mexico and Costa Rica so perhaps they want to build routes to South America. Either that, or Claudio has Parker's ear.

We have some kind of 15' tall evergreen with really shallow roots planted in front of our house, and I expect that it would be knocked over if my father and I hadn't already secured it with wire and posts in the ground four years ago. The 332 should be able to do a PHX-NRT leg and they have a few of those.

Maybe they are just preparing to be kicked out of *A. :) The reality is if the demand is there, US will likely get slaughtered in Brazlil. UA has so many dormant authorities from the PA days that if they fired those up, it would hurt everyone else.

same here. We have a lot of very tall, very old trees in my neighborhood. During the summer storms last year, two massive trees fell - both onto Rte 27, a major thoroughfare through town.

Luckily, both times, the trees fell while the traffic lights were at red, and fell in such a way that they missed the traveling traffic. Very considerate of the trees, I thought! :D

Fortunately, on our block the power lines run through the back yard and thus are less subject to the giant sycamores and oaks that line the streets.
