5x? 10x? 20x? I'd love to be getting me some Brooklyn Decker Wyndham miles but as I can't get signed up for a BD number, ,not sure that's going to work out. I'm guessing trying to get miles retroactively would be a lesson in utter :rolleyes:ness |

Understood and agreed on all counts. Ironically it was the US pilots union that pushed this issue to the forefront with the regulators, ensuring that they will not be able to establish dominance, increase fares and ensure survival of the carrier and their jobs.
I really think that their pilots - at least the ones running the union - want the carrier to fail. At some point last year, the pilots' union had put up anti-management billboards along I-95 near PHL. My guess is also that someone in the pilots' union thinks that this will cost mainline jobs. |

Then again, not doing anything and letting the two play it out as is would also be fun to watch.
And, in reality, I still don't understand why US doesn't free those slots up on the open market or possibly even to a fellow *A carrier. There is no doubt they were on the losing end and it just got worse. |

US also was supposed to get rights to fly to GRU and NRT, which they're interested in having (especially since they aren't included in the NH/CO/UA transpac arrangement). (I'm not sure if they have a plane that can get to NRT, but that's another issue.) Anyway, it's clear from the response that if they won't be able to use market dominance as a way of boosting fares they don't want to go through with the transaction. So, is GRU worth that much? What does US know that the rest of the world doesn't? |

Good morning Box.
I almost stepped outside The Box to post a scream. I am tired of reading about CO shutting down their operations in cities affected by the snow storm and how the phone lines are jammed. One of these days we will operate all flights in bad weather. If you can't make it to the airport during a storm- tough - you lose the money on your ticket and will have to purchase another one. Airline Bill of Rights. ;) You get no  from me when you close down because of bad weather. I wouldn't want to risk flying in bad weather. I value safety, thank you very much :) So, sfogate, take refuge in the Box, and know that we are all sympathizing with you! |
