Hmm... Maybe it means that they will start using a snackbasket soon like US and DL do. That would be major improvement on short flights if they did that.

I certainly hope so. If you fly AA on the late DFW-PHX (a shorter flight) in F they offer hot nuts and cookies. At least bring CO up to the level of US/DL/UA with snack baskets as you said.

Co.com is really screwing up fares at this time. Fares are being incorrectly calculated. This needs fixed ASAP or CO is going to be losing business.

I am checking BWI-SEA on co.com. If I select coach for both outbound and return - Co.com incorrectly fares out First Class on outbound and coach for return.

If I change the selection to First Class outbound and keep coach for the return then I get the proper fare for coach for outbound.

This is a better bad error. I now coach is available - as travelocity fares it out correctly and I get co.com to fare out coach - just that I have to check the box for First Class for outbound.

This is getting worst.

If I specify either coach or first class for outbound - I get first class and coach is not sold out.

Edit: It has shifted back - so at least I can specify First Class button and get a coach fare to fare out.

Specify coach - comes out first class on outbound.
Specify FC - comes out coach on the outbound.

This is happening to me too, and it is indeed ridiculous, and has been happening to me consistently since co.com went down for maitenance about midnight central time this past Friday night. It is definitely a bug, because Firefox is doing it and Internet Explorer shows normal coach availability and pricing.

It also failed on my attempt to buy up to F on a different itinerary. I could use miles though.

Anyone had success with buying miles or F through the website within the last few days?

FWIW
DLM

It's given me errors twice on the buy-up. When I called they couldn't find any record of the offer at the same price I tried to buy, and I wasn't willing to pay any more, so they ended up resetting my reservation back to what I had originally purchased.

CO.Com again strikes by charging a $75 close-in ticketing fee for a Platnium Reward redemption and overdraws my checking account for second time in a year. UGH!!

CO please fix this problem, the ticket was in my name, made on CO.COM via my account and miles taken from my CO account.

Getting Screwed during UA and CO Merger

Not certain if this is the best place to post, but I am totally PO'd at both United and Continental. For 2010 I have Platinum Status on Continental and Premier Exec. status on United. I was anticipating that the OnePass and Mileage Plus programs would merge so I did not combine my miles into one account. As a result I will have silver status in both programs next year.

I questioned both Continental and United multiple times during the year for an answer on how the elite miles will be treated and each time I received a response with the same marketing rhetoric. The only thing I really care about is the 100% mileage bonus vs 25%. If the two carriers were more upfront about thier plans to keep the programs seperate at the time of the merger I would have combined miles and forgone any upgrades to protect my status for 2011.

Anyone else have similar thoughts? I think we are gettting screwed if we have elite status in both programs. Screw United and Continental-thankfully I am still going to be at least platinum on Delta! Delta at least had the courtesy to combine elite miles during the NWA merger!!!

I recall reading and hearing repeatedly that the two would not merge in 2010, but that information about the future would be forthcoming...

Few things to consider, regarding the DL/NW aspect. It was several months before DL began to combine the programs. It was ironically about 2 years ago that they merged, and was in spring before accounts were able to move miles easily. CO/UA is 6 weeks in, no decision on which program will survive has been made. Nor has UACO management claimed that it would be done this year. Using the DL/NW timeline it would be April-ish (at the soonest) that we would see the progs combined.

Also, since October 2009 you were able to deposit miles into one account (UA or CO). You made the choice, based on speculation, to deposit into both accounts. Your claimed marketing rhetoric was indeed the answer to your question, you just chose to ignore the fact that it was the answer.
I'm curious to know what miles you've flown this year. Reminding you that Platinum vs 1k is 25k miles.

ucrunner Nov 14, 2010 12:40 pm

Valid Points

WIRunner you definately make valid arguments. I did in fact speculate and lost my bet. Last year I flew about 78K on Continental and 57K on United which is why I have different status in the two programs. All of those miles were flown before Continental joined *A. In the current year I have just over 25K in each program (about 60K combined - not that it matters). I should have used one program just to be sure I qualified for the highest status in 2011 but I did not.

Upgrade with No Charge - Wonder what to do?

I too received errors (three times) trying to purchase an upgrade. I went in and looked at my reservation and found I no longer had a seat assignment. I reselected a seat in first class and it let me but I've been checking my credit card account and have not been charged for the upgrade after a week. I'm trying to decide whether I should call or not. The actual flights isn't until mid-December so I have time. I know that ethically I should call and probably will tomorrow.

I am trying to get from earning miles/sephora - put in my OnePass # and all I'm getting is a blank page.

Go ahead and call. I ended up calling because it wouldn't let me check in. If you wait, you risk losing your preferred Y seat if your can't get the same offer as before, or your upgrade doesn't go through.

Not seeing my name on the "upgrade standby list" for my flight Tuesday to LAS, I called and was told I was on the automated list, but my name wouldn't show up on the list online unless the upgrade was processed or I checked in with OLCI.

Is this something new/recent? I used to see my name without a check mark on the list when I wasn't upgraded yet - and it was quite reassuring. Now I have to trust that I'm there, without proof...
