I've added another entry in the GG codes section. I've also updated the partner upgrade stuff to remove some SkyTeam vestiges that were there.

"Plan B" for International Business rewards

Perhaps the FAQ should be updated to include International Business under "Plan B for Reward Tickets". I've verified that this works (at least the waitlisting; I'll report back if/when I can/cannot standby at the airport) for saver Business rewards, in my case SB15PZ (Japan-Oceania).

The existing language in the FAQ talks only about BF.

I've made the change to reflect that the approach can be used for all premium cabins though it still mostly focuses on the BF aspect of things.

I've also updated a number of posts to reflect the PPlatinum status and to finally remove SkyTeam from everything.

As always, post in here if there are issues/updates/ideas.

According to Continental FAQ thread, you need to be over 21 to access the President's Club (unless entering as a guest). I have a Z class ticket EWR-TLV on 12/28, but will be only 19. I was wondering if in general, the CO representative at the door allows that kind of thing to slide. If so, what kind of amenities can I expect to find in the lounge?

Technically no because liquor is served. I have gotten in under 21 before, but not in any of the hub clubs if I was by myself. Underage, paid BF or not, if you're by yourself I don't like your odds.

Agreed. You could find someone of age and have them come in as your guest, I believe. At that point you'd technically be there with someone over 21. Otherwise there's a 50/50 chance the folks at the front desk notice you're under 21 and deny you entry.

As for amenities, chips, crackers and cheeses are pretty much all you'll have on the food side. Free water, coffee, tea, sodas and juice to drink. Free showers in the C2/3 club. And free wifi in either club.

Some minor housekeeping items:

Same-day standby change:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/10993890-post55.html

Change to reflect the new rules for Platinum fees.

Code Inaccuracies

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/11568920-post56.html

There are two different GG codes for the same thing--"GG OVS DOWNGRADE" or "GG OVB DOWNGRADE."

The FAQ lists a 'ZM' fare bucket for Plat M-ups at time of purchase, but all my M-ups (after oct 3) seem to go to 'ZE'. Does 'ZM' really exist or should this be updated?

Apparently I just made that part up. :o

I'll fix the post. Thanks for noticing!

I'm not sure if they are still around, but there were four odd-ball 16-seat 738s with power. Ships 229, 280,284 and 290.

These had 110v power from well before the LiveTV roll-out and I believe it is still there, but I could be wrong.

Platinums have free same-day standby on tickets purchased after...

10/1/09.

See "Same-Day Flight Changes" http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...romoCode=A1631

"Upgraded tickets will be automatically added to the upgrade standby list at your applicable upgrade priority. Once you are added to the upgrade standby list, you can check your real-time upgrade status at http://continental.com/info .

Has anyone tried to look at their "real-time upgrade status"?

Motorskills Dec 22, 2009 11:23 pm

I seem to have gotten a ZV fare recently, I don't think that's one of the listed codes on the current FAQ.

Any EUA fare will have a Z in front of the regular paid class when the EUA is given. It credits based on the original paid fare, a V in your case.

This has been fixed. The fare buckets post now also explains the Z* buckets that are reported on statements for EUAs and other upgrades.

Those would definitely be odd-balls in that they are 5+ years old. Can anyone confirm that they do have power currently?
