TOBOTRONC @ Naturlandia
 

Some of you have PM'd me asking about the Tobotronc at Naturlandia, as in their website shows as 'not working due to maintenance' (thanks cawhite for the heads up :)).

I inmediately requested our travel agent to inquire about the situation, and as stated on the web, the Tobotronc is stopped now due to maintenance, but it will be reopened to the public on 10/29, so we will enjoy it!

In the Catalan culture, the concept of 'tip' doesn't really exist. Here it is not mandatory to tip 10 - 15 % in restaurants or $1 per drink you order in a bar, and if you don't do it, you won't get angry/killer looks or waiters chasing you in the parking lot requesting for what did he/she do wrong as tip was 10 and not 15% or similar situations we non-americans experience in the US as we're not used to that system.

Said so, the prices we've paid the venues for our activities don't include tips & gratitudes. So, if you think you're getting a good service in bars and restaurants that we will be attending, feel free to tip the waiters/barmans for as much as you want. If you don't like the service, don't give them tips, and they won't complain. But I'm guessing that won't be the case because the venues of choice are very special, you will see! :)

So, what you're saying, dragonfire, is that the BOO DOO VI organizers who are Catalan do not expect tips, but those who are Americans do - is that right?

Edit: At a tip rate of $1 per drink I think alanw will end up very rich!!!

Actually there are no Catalan organizers (technically I guess I could claim to be half-Catalan by marriage)! Though both of us speak the language to one degree or another. 1€/drink will be fine. We can't spend dollars here. ;)

I know several people are on board IB 6252 from JFK to MAD that leaves at 10:05 PM...
The flight leaves from Terminal 7, so the only lounge option is the British Airways lounge, which has a Terraces and a First Lounge.
I'm an EXP/Emerald, so I can guest someone into the First lounge, after all, the party plane needs refreshments ;):D

If any other oneworld elites are on board, we could probably guest any non-oneworld elites that are heading to the Doo :D

my backpack has a FT tag so I'll be easy to recognize... :D

Don't forget to bring proper shoes and clothes!!! The weather will be nice during the BooDoo weekend, but a week ago there was major storms all over Catalonia and the Pyrinees, and then there will be mud on those hills! Keep in mind that we will get dirty on that MountainBike or hiking tours!

I know a lot of people have defected from the party plane, so shall we compile a current list and whether or not lounge access is needed or can be provided? I'm planning on getting to JFK around 8pm.

Mr. taking flight and I are on the party plane. I am AA Platinum, so we only have access to the Business Class lounge. If you're willing to guest us into the First Class lounge, that would be much appreciated. We are arriving at 6:15 p.m. from LAX and could meet you at the lounge entrance at the time of your choosing.

I just arrived at the Hotel Turin in beautiful downtown BCN. It's about 100 feet away from LeMeridien (pre-party central).
