Thanks for all the info and your efforts, dfb, but I think there's just one of those occassional 'issues' with my Maestro card ... possibly because it's not Spanish.

Maybe I'll just get a ticket on the day (or the day before). Do you think the bus is likely to be heavily booked?

Those buses are never heavily booked. It's 44 seats and the few times I've taken it, it's always empty. Let's just say that Andorreans prefer to use their Alfa Romeos to come to the city (and go back to the mountains, of course)...

Have you tried with a Visa or a MasterCard?

So the question becomes, which shift do we reserve? There are appointments available for 6:00-7:30 PM and 8:00-9:30 PM. I guess it will depend on what time the res is for....

That's good to know, Fan-y-Draig*; I guess the 13:00 will be overrun with BOO DOOers.

I only have Maestro and AMEX - most places will accept one or other of these!

* That's Welsh for "Dragon Fire," BTW (the "F" is pronounced like the English "V").

Actually, folks - although I'm glad you appreciate Welsh humour - I have to admit to a very slight inaccuracy. :o In Welsh, the word for "dragon" (draig) is feminine and so, when preceded by articles/prepositions such as "y", the initial "d" undergoes what is known as a soft mutation, changing slightly in appearance and pronunciation.

So, the correct translation of "Dragon Fire" is actually, "Fan-y-Ddraig," where the double-d (a single letter in Welsh) is pronounced like the voiced "th" in English (as in "there" but not as in "thin").

Still, if the hat fits ...

Two (three) words we don't have in the Welsh language (or psyche): "planning," "socially" (and "toaster")! :D
