There's a bar at the Barcelona Nord bus station! I'll (probably) be there from about 12:00 noon, waiting for the 13:00 bus. If anyone tries to tell you that the bar isn't open, just refuse to understand them!

IMPORTANT EVERYONE: WELCOME TO EUROPE! The bus drivers are on strike. ALSA busses from Estacio del Nord are NOT running today. The Nadal and Julia busses from Sants and the airport are running (though expect to cross a picket line).
If you need alternate transportation, you have some options: 1. Get on the Julia/Nadal busses at Sants or the aiport. The 13:45 still has available seats as of right now. If you have a ticket for these they will be honored. 2. Get a rental car. It is not possible do to a one-way rental between Spain and Andorra so you'll have to bring it back. Best bet is http://www.pepecar.com if you're in Barcelona or any of the companies at the airport. Pepecar is currently showing 7-passenger vans for 41€/day all-in at their Sants location. DFB is on his way to the bus company right now to look for a better solution. I will post to the thread as we have updated information. Keep checking back. Crisis averted! |
I just came from the bus station (very convenient it's only 2 blocks away from my house) and the staff has guaranteed me twice that the Andorra busses are not affected by the strike.

you know, I've been thinking about to type this one up... so let's see...
so do I get a prize? I think mine is the first really dumb action of Boo Doo and I looked and acted like a fool :rolleyes:... I behaved in an unacceptable manner, and the cost (both time and money) of my actions are pretty clear... :( I missed a day of Boo Doo and the monetary cost hurts but knowing that I missed these events hurts 10x more... I was really looking forward to Boo Doo and was not looking forward to starting a fun weekend in such a manner... oh well, now to see what to do... :( |

We've arrived!
Justforfun and Barb (forgot her handle) waited around for a couple of hours for me at BCN. Around 15:30 we all met up and started our trip up to Andorra. Justforfun had some Google Maps printed but we had to use my phone GPS to get us on track.
Along the way we shared the drama stories of our days! We forgot to turn when JFF and Barb were telling of their flight over. Then when I was talking about my 3.5 hours at the BA ticket counter this morning, we missed another turn. But in the end we arrived in Andorra around 6:45. Then my phone died! Thanks to the kindness of strangers, we accidentally found the hotel! Phew! The hotel is great! The rooms are modern and tasteful. It puts my host hotel for the Oktoberfest GAYLA DO to shame. But as JFF reminded me, that hotel had the perfect location. We ran into other FTers in the lobby and everyone looks in good shape. The festivities begin in just a few minutes. It will be fun to see everyone and meet new ones! This is my first "straight" DO. I wonder if I'll be able to tell the difference!!??!? So far we give the DO ***** for the hotel! Nice job boys! |

I was able to get on the 7 pm flight. Same seat and all... Will see what happens in Barcelona. |

Last night was wonderful. Nice tapas, nice wine, and more importantly nice FTers! It was great to see old friends, and even better to meet new ones. We actually drank the bar dry. They didn't know what damage 50 FTers and 3 hours of open bar can do!
Today the plan for most was to do Naturlandia at 10am. I woke up at 3pm. |

I'm very sorry that the bus was waiting for me, guys, but I just couldn't handle reality until about 1 pm. :o I hope you all had a good day out. I just went for a stroll around the edge of town, and I'm feeling almost human again now. So, where are we meeting up for an aperatif or three before the BIG DINNER? :) -- H & 3 (2 has been grounded by mutual consent) PS: But it was a really great evening.
